W. Thomas Hawkins (born January 9, 1980) is a Democratic politician, land planner, and lawyer from Gainesville, Florida.^[1]^[2] Hawkins served as an elected City Commissioner of Gainesville.^[3] He is a fifth-generation Gainesville resident and is descendent of Gainesville mayor William Reuben Thomas who brought the University of Florida to Gainesville.^[4]^[5]
