The Cannery, located at Penn Center, was built in 1946 as a dairy barn and milking parlor. The hand-made concrete silos were used to store animal feed. The barn was converted in the early 1980s to a tomato cannery and was later used by Coastal Canning to process conch. Today, the cannery is not in use by the Penn Center. [3][4][5]
