Shaykh Muhammed Ahmed Saqalain Miyan Huzoor

Shaykh Muhammed Ahmed also known as Saqalain Miyan Huzoor (Rahmatullah Alaih) (1947–2023), was one of the foremost traditional Sunni Islamic scholar and Spiritual Guide of contemporary times from India.

He was the Custodian of Khanqaah e Sharafatiya in Bareilly, India. He bridged the gap between spirituality and intellectuality, orthodoxy and modernity, divine love and world affairs.

Early life

Blessed Birth & Childhood

Shaykh Muhammed Ahmed was born as Saqalain Miyan Huzoor on 13^th March 1947 to Shah Shujaat Ali Miyan (Rahmatullahi alaih) in Kakrala, Uttar Pradesh. He was the grandson of Hazrat Qiblah Shah Sharafat Ali Miyan (Rahmatullahi alaih).

Early Life & Education

SHAYKH MUHAMMED SAQALAIN MIYAN HUZOOR (Rahmatullahi alaih) received education in Urdu, Persian and Arabic from his mentor in the monastery and learned the mysteries of mysticism. And he worked diligently in the propagation and publication of Khanqaah Aaliyah Sharafatiya Mujaddidiya Quadriya. A small but comprehensive library in the monastery, filled with manuscripts, is the fruit of his scholarly efforts. SHAYKH MUHAMMED SAQALAIN MIYAN HUZOOR (Rahmatullahi alaih) preached religion not only in cities and towns but also in remote forests of the country where dangers confront on every corner. And lives of many of Allah's creations got completely reformed both religiously and spiritually through his efforts. Despite all the busy schedule of the monastery, SHAYKH MUHAMMED SAQALAIN MIYAN HUZOOR (Rahmatullahi alaih) often led the five-time obligatory prayers and always led the Eid and Friday prayers.

Death

SHAYKH MUHAMMED SAQALAIN MIYAN HUZOOR (Rahmatullahi alaih) breathed his last at his residence on the evening of 20^th October 2023 and was buried in Aastana-e-Saqalainia Sharafatiya, Bareilly, India. His burial rites and last prayer (Namaz-e-Janaza) was attended by Millions of people from across the world in the City of Bareilly, India. Condolences poured in across all spectrums of the society (Social, Political and Religious Heads) and many dignitaries visited the Aastana for conveying their condolences.

He is succeeded by his only son MUHAMMED GHAZI SAQALAINI-UL-QADRI, who now presides over the monastery as the Custodian and the Spiritual head.
