One Punch Man is an upcoming American superhero film based on the manga of the same name by ONE. It will be directed by Justin Lin from a screenplay by Dan Harmon and Heather Anne Campbell.

One Punch Man is produced by Columbia Pictures and Arad Productions, and is set for distribution by Sony Pictures Releasing.

Premise[edit]

A powerful superhero named Saitama, who has the ability to defeat any enemy with just a single punch, grows bored over the lack of challenging villains, and seeks to find a worthy opponent.

Production[edit]

In April 2020, it was announced Sony Pictures was adapting One Punch Man into a film, with Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner writing, and Avi Arad and Ari Arad producing.[1] In June 2022, Justin Lin was hired to direct and co-write alongside Rosenberg and Pinkner, with the intention of beginning production by the end of 2022.[2] In April 2024, the film was confirmed to still be in development with Lin still set as director and the script being rewritten by Dan Harmon and Heather Anne Campbell.[3]
