Draft:Meritocratic Senate

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Meritocratic Senate is a legislative system, created by Ralf Halfeld, as alternative of the two houses system (senate and house of representatives), common in presidential republics like United States of America, Brazil and Argentina.

The Meritocratic Senate would serve as the only house after the dissolution of the House of Representatives. To guarantee the proportions, weights are added to the vote of each senator equivalent to the number of votes that the politician received.

For example, if a senator was elected with 1 million votes, every time they say 'Aye' (yes) or 'Nay' (no) to a decision, the casted vote will count 1 million votes for or against it.
