Maria Moss is an artist, singer, songwriter and a producer born in Tarragona, Spain. She mixes pop with Latin and Hispanic influences. She has worked with international artists and producers such as Cher, Mark Taylor, Pete Maher and Pink Panda. Through her songs, performed in both Spanish and English, she conveys messages of empowerment, strength, and positivity.

Biography[edit]

Maria has been writing, performing and developing her sound, sparking industry interest (X-Factor, Universal Music Group, AEG Presents, OML, etc.). She has performed in Spain, The UK and USA (Los Angeles, Chicago and New York) and has performed in legendary venues and concert halls such as the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, Proud Camden and Cargo to name a few. She has had media coverage in Spain, the United Kingdom and Latin America.

Many international radio stations have supported Maria's releases. A few examples are the BBC, BBC Introducing (The UK) , Els 40, Onda Cero, La Cadena SER, 4G con Fernandisco, Radio REC and Radio Europea (Spain) and Vibrando Alto (Mexico). Newspapers such as El País and El Mundo, magazines such as Mente Líder (Mexico and Spain), LH Magazine, El Mundo Semanal (Spain) and Lock Magazine and Music News (The UK); and television programmes such as 'Late Motiv' by Andreu Buenafuente on Movistar+ and 'Tot es mou' on TV3 (Spain) and Aquí Entre Nos (México) have also echoed her success.

The finalist of the Primo Maggio Festival 2018 (London's edition) has also worked with the British filmmaker Marine Hugonnier, singing for her new documentary 'La Vijanera' screened internationally at various festivals and museums such as the Guggenheim. Currently, Maria Moss also writes songs for other artists and producers and coaches singing.

Maria Moss has two university degrees (Journalism and Music), she also studied drama, singing, and dancing. At the age of 16, she began to work professionally as a session singer, at first in a function band and later on, recording in the studio. When she was a teenager, she won the 'La llave inglesa' award on the TV3 show 'Cantamania' where she sang 'When You Believe' by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston.

After taking jazz lessons at Aula Musics (Liceu de Barcelona) and lyrical singing at the Tarragona Conservatory, she moved to Madrid where she took a musical theatre course while developing herself as an artist. Later, she moved to London where she studied BA Creative Musicianship at BIMM London (University of West London) and started writing for other artists, producers, and DJs. Maria started being a vocal coach at the young age of 18. She has worked with Anu Badmus (who was Nala in The Lion King musical), Valentina Pinault (Salma Hayek's daughter), and Cher.

Maria has also worked as a lyrics translator translating songs into English and Spanish and coaching artists to be able to sing in Spanish with the correct pronunciation and emotion.

She worked as a vocal pronunciation coach helping Cher sing with a perfect pronunciation on the Spanish version of ABBA's 'Chiquitita'. Maria Moss ended up singing backing vocals to the song and writing several alternate versions. The song was released to support Unicef in its fight against Covid-19.

The LP was released on May 27, 2022, as the culmination of several months of hard work, enthusiasm and high hopes placed on the exclusive talent of the young artist from Tarragona easily recognizable for her artistic versatility.

The LP includes "Soy Soy Un Animal", "Gold", "Oro", "Nah", "Viva La Vida" or "Superwoman" and "Volaré". Fans can now enjoy the music videos of "I'm Only An Animal", "Gold" and "Superwoman" on Youtube.

Artists like Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Camila Cabello, Cher, Major Lazer, Shakira, La Oreja De Van Gogh, Sia, Adele, Pink, and Rihanna are a few of her inspirations.
