Karen Hauser, research director for the Broadway League, conceived and developed IBDB Internet Broadway Database which launched in 2001. She has written on the economic health of Broadway and how it contributes to New York City's economy as well as that of the cities that touring productions visit.

Prior to that, Hauser was a freelance journalist and theatre producer. She co-produced the 2000 production of Keith Reddin's The Perpetual Patient and several theatre festivals with All Seasons Theatre.

She holds a BA from Brown University and graduate degree from Columbia. She is married to Warren Leight.
