Illia Anatolijovych Vitiuk (Ukrainian: Ілля Анатолійович Вітюк; born 09 May 1987) is a Ukrainian military officer, Brigadier General, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Department since 30 November 2021[1]

Biography[edit]

In 2004 started doing military service in the bodies and units of the Security Service of Ukraine.

In 2009, he earned a Master’s Degree in Law with honours from the SBU National Academy.

In 2012, he graduated with honours from Kyiv National Economic University and obtained qualification of Master in International Economics.

For 12 years he held numerous operational and mid-level leadership positions in various SBU units, including counterintelligence. In November 2021 Illia Vitiuk was promoted to the position of the Head of the SBU Cyber Security Department. In this role, he provides strategic oversight and guidance for counterintelligence officers whose scope of responsibilities ranges from incident response to cyber operations and criminal investigations, countering Russian cyber aggression and malign information influence, security oversight of state digitalization processes. General Illia Vitiuk has been demonstrating inventive ways of leading his Department through the challenging time of the full-scale Russian war against Ukraine, focusing on the continued enhancement of operations and organizational transformation. He received several awards for exceptional service, including medals from top political and military leadership and governmental awards. Illia Vitiuk is a silver medalist of the world championship in mixed martial arts. He speaks English and German, fluent in Spanish, Portuguese.
