Joanne Sandler is an American advocate for women's equality. She served as director of the United Nations Development Fund for Women and UN Women, where she advocated for gender mainstreaming and against sexual harassment.[1][2][3]
Sandler's publications include the books Gender at Work: Theory and Practice for 21st Century Organizations and The Tech and Tool Book..[4] Articles by Sandler, such as "Can the United Nations Deliver a Feminist Future" and "Feminist Wanted: Seeking the Next Leader of UN Women", call for the United Nations to become a more feminist organization.[5][6]
