Proposal[edit]

To remove the the category Category:Wikipedia administration. This page is already in is already in Category:Wikipedia maintenance, and this is incorrect duplicate categorisation. Apart from that, Category:Wikipedia deletion seems rather out of place in comparison with other subcategories in Category:Wikipedia administration. makes sense to me, so I went ahead and removed it... I have no idea if that will be reverted or not, as I'm not familiar with the history around all of this, but this should at least start a BRD cycle if needed.

Thanks. I actually had in mind that there should be some discussion, at least "pro forma", but obviously I am pleased with your agreement and subsequent action. Debresser (talk) 20:07, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect needed[edit]

Please can someone add to:

"This category contains pages related to deletion of pages on Wikipedia. The official policy is at Wikipedia:Deletion policy, and a summary of the various processes involved is at Wikipedia:Deletion process."

something like:

"(For how to propose a PORTION of a page should be deleted, see ______; for how to actually delete a portion of a page see _____; for how to object to someone having deleted a portion of a page see _____.)"

The zillions of words and pages about how to participate in editing Wikipedia are thorough, but not adequately organized, threaded and collapsed to enable ordinary folk. The above 'see also' would be a minor work-around to help users find the Help info that they most commonly are seeking when they search the Wikipedia Help for "deletion". At present it only seems to lead to full page deletion info.

Wikipedia should invest in developing a one-page "Guide to Editing Wikipedia for People with Commonsense"!
