Do not place a newspaper under this category if a person from the particular newspaper was given the award. This category is only for the newspapers that received the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service - which is given to newspapers as a whole, not people on the newspaper staff. 90 months later we have 88 pages in the category. It hasn't worked as planned --per the preface and User:Weatherman90-- probably because it was mis-named.

I infer 36 pages are not about newspapers that have won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service, the Pulitzer gold medal. That is, only 52 of 88 pages now in this category belong in category Pulitzer Prize for Public Service winning newspapers, as this might have been named.

There are now 88 pages in the category.

Relying generally on our list Pulitzer Prize for Public Service#Winners, investigating only some of its bluelinks, I count 68-69 nominally distinct newspapers that have won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service in 97 years 1917–2013. Three are redlinks in our list; two or three are covered by one newspaper article (Ledger-Enquirer); twelve are bluelinks missing from the category. Thus 52 pages in the category are newspaper articles about Public Service Pulitzer winners. 36 are not.

If we define newspapers now covered by one article as one gold-medalist newspaper (gmnp): 67 gmnp − 3 redlink gmnp − 12 bluelink gmnp missing from the category = 52 gmnp in the category.
