Category name seems wrong[edit]

Why has this category been called Foreign Associates when the National Academy refers on its website to such people being elected as Foreign Members ? GooglerW (talk) 14:41, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@GooglerW: "Foreign associates" and "foreign members" are used almost interchangeably by the NAE and NAS, although NAE seems to prefer "foreign members" in recent years, while NAS still tends to use "foreign associates". I'm using "associates" for the sake of consistency, as the NAS is more influential. -Zanhe (talk) 22:31, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Explanation noted, thanks. I believe NAE 're-branded' its past Foreign associates and future nominees as Foreign members from its 2015 election (compare Feb 2015 and Feb 2014 announcements) and has consistently used that term since, so I do think it would be worth considering renaming the Category according to NAE terminology; NAS not really relevant.
