Category:Killings in the United States

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Homicides (the killing of one person by another, as determined by a coroner/medical examiner or juror) that have not resulted in convictions for murder that remain standing (an article belongs in this category if a murder conviction has been overturned on appeal).

These include cases where a suspect has not been identified or charged and may possibly still be alive, cases where a suspect or defendant died before they could be tried or charged (save those where forensic evidence such as DNA linked them to the crime posthumously and the investigation was closed on that basis) , is awaiting or standing trial on the charge, was found not guilty by reason of insanity or self-defense, or was convicted of manslaughter or other lesser charges.
