For the purposes of this category, "Solomon Islands" is defined in accordance with the World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions (WGSRPD). It consists of:
- the "North Solomons", the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, Bougainville Island and associated islands
- the "South Solomons", the Solomon Islands country
It excludes the Santa Cruz Islands, politically part of the Solomons, but treated as a separate unit in the WGSRPD – see Category:Flora of the Santa Cruz Islands.
