The Anderson family of Newcastle-upon-Tyne are an English mercantile, municipal and gentry family. The family was founded by the merchant and MP Henry Anderson (1484-1559). Several other members of this family were Mayors, Aldermen, Sheriffs and MPs of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Sheriffs of Northumberland during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
