Bangladesh Food Safety Authority is an autonomous national food safety regulatory agency which works as a statutory organization and is located in Dhaka, Bangladesh.[1][2] Mustak Hassan Md Iftekhar is the founder chairman of the authority.[3] Mr. Zakaria is the new chairman of Bangladesh Food Safety Authority.[4]

The authority was formed in February 2015,[5] under the Food Safety Act 2013.[6][7] The authority works under the Ministry of Food.[8] The authority was modeled on the United States Food and Drug Administration.[9] It is governed by a five-member decision-making body.[10] The agency has its own mobile court that can fine and sentence people for food adulteration.[11]
