Alex Austin (born May 22, 2001) is an American football cornerback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Oregon State.[1][2]

Early years[edit]

Austin was born and raised in Long Beach, California, where he attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School.[3]

College career[edit]

Austin played at Oregon State for four years and put up 141 tackles, two going for a loss, a sack, four interceptions, 20 pass deflections, three fumble recoveries, and a touchdown.[4]

Buffalo Bills[edit]

Austin was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the seventh round with the 252nd pick overall in the 2023 NFL draft.[7][8][9] He was waived on August 29, 2023.[10]

Houston Texans[edit]

On August 30, 2023, Austin was claimed off waivers by the Houston Texans.[11] He was waived on October 14 and re-signed to the practice squad.[12] He was released on November 1.[13]

New England Patriots[edit]

On November 2, 2023, Austin signed with the New England Patriots.[14]
