Adeseha Wuraola Becky (best known as Blarkgold) (born March 20, 1978) is a Nigerian actress, filmmaker, philanthropist and a business woman. She is known for her talent and performances in the Nigerian entertainment industry.[1][2][3][4]
Early Life and Education[edit]
Adeseha Wuraola Becky was born to Mr. Oladiran Isaac and Mrs. Mosunmola Sidikat Adesegha on March 20, 1978. She did her education at Girls' High School in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos. Adeseha Wuraola Becky successfully completed her secondary education and obtained her WAEC certificate in June 1996. She graduated from Lagos State University in 2010/2011.[5]
Career[edit]
Adeseha Wuraola Becky started her full time career in the film industry in June 2008 after being actively involved in a drama group during her secondary school years. She took a significant step towards her acting career by registering with Tenifab Motion Pictures, earning her certificate from the organization in 2007.[6][7]
Throughout her career, Adediwura has made notable contributions to both Yoruba and English-language Nigerian films. Her breakthrough came in 2008 with her role in "Afiwo," a Yoruba-language film that premiered at the prestigious Lagos Airport Hotel. Subsequently, she showcased her talent in various Yoruba films, including "Igbadi," "Eji Obara," "Ose Meji," "Abokoku," "Asiri Mewa," "Agbongbo Akala," "Ojelu," "Awofele Bonu," and "Asiri Obinrin," among others.[6][8]
Adediwura further showcased her versatility as an actress in English-language films such as "Sista," "Blossom," "Big Love," "Mrs O the Crazy Landlady," "Chaos Came Calling," "I am Anis," "Picture Perfect" series, "Omo Momiz" series, "Untamed," "Dada Oni Pataki," and "Homicide,".[7]
Adediwura entered the film production industry in 2017, signifying a momentous achievement in her professional trajectory. After producing "IKOKO" (2017), she moved on to produce "Alangba" (2017), "Oronro" (2018), "40th Birthday" (2019), "Ewure Abami" (2020), "Ago Meje" (2020), "Egungun Gbigbe" (2020), "Gbangba Dekun" (2020), "Adake Pani" (2021), and "Odi Ala" (2021).[5]
Adediwura made a notable advancement in the film industry in April 2023 through the successful production of "ATIKO." "ATIKO" was her first significant undertaking and was shot in Fiditi, Oyo State, and Lagos State in collaboration with filmmaker Biodun Stephen for Papayahq a film production firm. Following this, in March 2024, she published her most recent film, "Grandma," which she had produced in December 2023. In same March, Adediwura started production of 5 films titled NL”Now you see me” “Orogun owo” “Eff you bish” “Ero” “Enitan”.[9]
Philanthrophy[edit]
In 2015, Adediwura established the non-profit organization "GIVING IS FUN” (A Widows Initiative)". This pioneering initiative is committed to educating, empowering, and sustenance of widows in the community. More than 2,000 widows have registered with GIVING IS FUN and benefited from its programs and initiatives.[10][11]
