The 2024–25 season marks Portsmouth Football Club's first season back in the EFL Championship, since the 2011–12 season following their promotion from League One in the previous season. In addition to the domestic league, the club would also participate in the FA Cup, and the EFL Cup.

Pre-season and friendlies

On May 31, Pompey announced their first three pre-season friendlies, against Gosport Borough, Havant & Waterlooville and Bognor Regis Town.[35] A fourth was confirmed five days later, versus Milton Keynes Dons.[36] In June, the club announced a pre-season training camp in Pula, Croatia.[37] On 1 July, Portsmouth added a fifth pre-season opposition, away to Charlton Athletic.[38]
