  • Is there a reason that Battle of Adwa is not here, or at least [[Adwa Day], howcheng?]Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).? Simfan34 (talk) 16:59, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It's out of rotation this year. If you look in the staging area, March 1 has a long list of eligible articles, so most of them are going to be excluded every year. I didn't know about the holiday, though, so the article about the battle gets to sneak in through the back door. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 17:06, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed swap[edit]

I propose removing the 2014 fact about the murder and replacing it with "1815 - Georgetown University was chartered by Congress as the first Catholic institution of higher education in the United States." Ergo Sum 18:36, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Ergo Sum: Georgetown University is already featured on Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/January 23, so I would be reluctant to put a sub-article on a separate day. howcheng {chat} 08:16, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

2019 suggestion[edit]

1869 - periodic table added (as suggestion), with image. Would be first appearance I assume, because was only recently added to March 1. 2019=150th anniversary. FA periodic table does not qualify for TFA on March 1 because it was TFA a year ago, unfortunately. -DePiep (talk) 16:21, 15 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The image of the original periodic table overlaps partially the image of TFA. Use other OTD image? -DePiep (talk) 11:14, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Howcheng please take a look. -DePiep (talk) 21:35, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
DePiep: I've swapped out the image for one of Warwick Armstrong. —David Levy 10:51, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2019 notes[edit]

  • @Howcheng: Should Saint David's Day perhaps appear before National Pig Day in the list of celebrations? I find my loyalties torn in both directions... Ham II (talk) 22:42, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Ham II: We have two conflicting rules here. First is that observances are listed in alphabetical order of the country of observance, so that puts Pig Day first. But there's a second rule that moves less serious ones to the end, so Pig Day could come last in that sense. I could go either way on this. howcheng {chat} 04:12, 2 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2021 request[edit]

@Howcheng: can we list Vic Mitchell (b. 1934) please? Mjroots (talk) 12:43, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Mjroots: I suggest you make the lead a bit longer. Otherwise, it looks good. howcheng {chat} 07:42, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Mjroots: One more thing: can you possibly get a footnote for the birth date? Thanks. howcheng {chat} 08:12, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Howcheng: - it's covered by reference [1], first paragraph of "Early life and career". Mjroots (talk) 08:18, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Mjroots: That was my assumption, but I suspect TRM will want a footnote closer to the text. howcheng {chat} 08:21, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Let's see, shall we? @The Rambling Man:. Mjroots (talk) 08:23, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If it's in footnote [1] then just re-use it at the end of the sentence containing the claim. Otherwise, OTD regardless, it's not being verified adequately. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 09:46, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree with the statement that it's not being verified adequately, but I've added the additional ref anyway. Mjroots (talk) 12:27, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

2022 request[edit]

Hi, hope this isn't too early -- I'm not very experienced with OTD. I'd like to place a nomination for Disability Day of Mourning to run if possible. It's never run OTD before (was made a few days after 1 March 2021), has no cleanup tags, is a B-class that could probably pass GAN with some work, and ran DYK when new without issues. (cc Howcheng) Vaticidalprophet 06:04, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Vaticidalprophet: Looking good, but the only thing it needs is a citation for the date. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 07:09, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Have added, thank you! Vaticidalprophet 07:14, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
