Are we going to have a collaborative project, or does everyone do their own thing, and just ask questions here as needed? My personal side project is to expand all the king articles, although it may take several years at this rate.

If we do have collaboration, how about starting with the most prominent second-level articles, Joseon Dynasty, Goryeo and Three Kingdoms of Korea. As each article is updated with citations, we can adjust the main History of Korea article. I'm just thinking out loud, I'd be glad to help on any project suggestion. At this time, I think the idea is for there to be just one official monthly collaboration for Wikipedia:WikiProject Korea as a whole, and for the working groups to function more as informal gathering-points. However, I think that focusing on the main period articles would be a good idea. Thanks for all your work on the monarch articles! -- Visviva 23:16, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I work for a non-profit organisation that promotes the exchange and development of accurate Korean historical information around the world. We would like to get people in Korea-both Korean and non-Korean to come to our office to perhaps talk about some strategies to do this through wikipedia. As a non-profit organisation and a centre for continuing education we can issue volunteer certificates and similar things. We have some affiliation with the Korea Foundation, Korea Branding and the Cultural Heritage Administration. If you are not in Korea that is also okay, if you would like to email me on [email protected] with some information about yourself and we can see if we can all try and formulate a plan to contribute to wikipedia together and for you to be rewarded for editing. Haemosu, Haeburu

The Hae Mosu and Hae Buru articles are accurate. I created articles for all of the Danguns of Bukbuyeo and Dongbuyeo. If anyone thinks that there should be changes, then please inform me. --Kprideboi 23:27, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I just wanted to point out this developing article, the history of East Asia, for people who are passionate about Korean history. Korea is traditionally seen as part of this region and having some loose commonalities with its neighbors. See history of Europe for comparison. Common elements in the history of East Asia might include:

  • the arrival of Buddhism from South Asia / India, including Korea
  • Taoism and Confucianism and its spread to Korea and beyond
  • Neo-confucianism in the "middle ages" -- did this impact Korea in any way?
  • the Mandate of Heaven in China and its impact on Korean rulers
  • similarities and differences between the Chinese civil service and Korea's organization in the "middle ages"
  • the advent of the stirrup and the arrival of the Mongols in the region.
  • the invention of gunpowder and its spread throughout the region.
  • the invention of the printing press and the development of movable type in Korea
  • the arrival of the European powers, and its effect on technology, diplomacy, philosophy, etc.
  • any notable wars that had the effect of shaping the region

I hope we can all work together to improve this article. 64.231.193.236 16:00, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Chunhyangga disambiguation requested

Hello! While editing an article about a comic based partially on a Chunhyangga, I ran across two instances where I believe disambiguation pages are needed. Presently Legend of Chun Hyang goes directly to an article about the CLAMP manga. The Chunhyangga article can be accessed only by its Korean name. I feel a disambiguation page would be useful here, with the CLAMP manga article being moved to "The Legend of Chun Hyang (manga)." The Legend of Chun Hyang is also a redirect to Legend of Chun Hyang. I didn't see any redirects to Chunhyangga.

Similarly, Chunhyang leads to an article about the 2000 Korean movie. There is not currently an article (that I could find) about Chunhyang of legend, but it seems reasonable that there will at some point. I know I, personally, was kind of like "what the...?" when I wound up on the movie page. Chunhyang (2000 film) is a redirect to Chunhyang, so maybe the movie article's contents could be moved to the existing page for the 2000 film and the existing Chunhyang page could be converted to the new disambiguation page.

I don't have experience with moving pages, and both articles have many "links to," so I don't think I'm up to the task. Would anyone be willing to handle this? Thanks so much! (By the way, thanks to all you history working group members -- I enjoy and use your articles a lot!) --hamu♥hamu (talk) 07:34, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello there, I am participating Wikiproject Korea, not part of History. But today I found the suggested warning banner under the page of Oriental Development company. The multiple issues concerning the page were added by some researches. Please help the paper grow up and be supplemented. Firstly, I hope the class of the paper would be decided ahead on the discussion page of the Oriental development company. Pju0353 (talk) 04:07, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
