Each individual editor must have their own account?[edit]

Is this a special rule for the education project? Otherwise in wikipedia there are some limitations on IP editors, such as not being able to create new articles or rename them. But it isn't true that you have to have an account in order to edit Wikipedia. ϢereSpielChequers 16:14, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The wording is a little off; I think that bit is supposed to indicate that if you have an account you must have an individual account. But for the education program, it is necessary for students to have accounts to use the course pages. I'll reword it.--Sage Ross (WMF) (talk) 16:18, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I can see that it is necessary when you want to assess each student's work individually. On more general wiki training I think it better to get people editing before you show them the advantages of having an account. ϢereSpielChequers 08:40, 10 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
