Continuous updates[edit]

  • @JJMC89: is your bot still processing this page throughout the cycle (I think it was daily before?) - seems like a lot of manual clean up has been going on since the new format started. — xaosflux Talk 11:37, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Xaosflux: My plan was only to run it when notifications would go out and at the end of the month. The intention was to cut down on the noise of updating edit counts. If you prefer, I can run it daily again or at another frequency. — JJMC89(T·C) 23:58, 24 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@JJMC89, I'm guessing it may be a pain to do daily, but only if the entire line is being removed? (e.g. for criteria 2 people we don't really need a daily update if the only change is an edit count increase). — xaosflux Talk 01:25, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The page only has 19 watchers though, so even if it was a full update daily it shouldn't bother that many people. — xaosflux Talk 02:58, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I think an update only when people are notified/removed would be a sensible course of action. I'm meh about updates that only involve edit count changes ... Graham87 04:33, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It is now updating daily. The bot generates the tables based on what is in its database. To have updates only when there are removals would require it to parse the page and compare it to the database, which isn't worth the effort. — JJMC89(T·C) 05:13, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ah OK, thank you. Since people were inclined to be updating this page manually, bot automation is still a good thing! — xaosflux Talk 12:35, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Some people are starting to come back or attempting to come back to Wikipedia after notice. This may be a good thing, after all... Thingofme (talk) 11:56, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
