Week 3: Assessment Guidelines

Getting started

• Complete the online student orientation. During this training, you will create an account, make edits in a sandbox, and learn the basic rules of Wikipedia.

• Core wikipedia policies: Wikipedia: Neutral point of view, Wikipedia: No original research, Wikipedia: Verifiability
• Handouts: Using talk pages, Evaluating Wikipedia article quality, Wikimarkup cheatsheet, Advice for choosing articles and How to get help

Week 5: Topic selection

• Select an article to work on. Add your article to the class’s course page. Please do this by 11 April if you can.

Week 6: Wikipedia tutorial

• Optional tutorial: Fri 4 April 3pm in the Den (level 2 Library).

Week 7: Wikipedia tutorial

• Optional tutorial: Tues 8 April 11am in the Den (level 2 Library).

Uni break: Wikipedia tutorial

• Optional tutorial: Tues 29 April 1 pm in the Den (level 2 Library).
• Optional tutorial: Fri 2 May 10 am in the Den (level 2 Library).

Week 8: Moving articles to the main space

• Move sandbox articles into main space.
