Think about what you are saying and doing. What is the result? If you give up now just because you've faced some legitimate criticism, then the several consequences will be negative:

1. You'll lose the fun of interacting with other Wikipedians.
2. You'll lose the benefit of learning abut lotsa interesting stuff as you write—one of the principle benefits of editing.
3. The Gabon-related articles are a teensy bit unlikely to become FAs (it's a teensy bit unlikely that anyone else will shepherd them through).
4. You'll waste this opportunity to learn how to improvise, adapt, work toward a goal and overcome obstacles.
5. You'll start a habit of quitting when the going gets rough. That is an unfortunate habit to acquire.

I suggest you wash your face, go back to the drawing board, get all your sources, check them carefully, check the article's content carefully, ask others to help you get more resources, rewrite the #%*^! thing and take it back to FAC.
