I don't understand this: does it mean that an article that is speedied and then identically, or substantially identically recreated 10seconds later then has to go to VfD? That would madness! -Splash 5 July 2005 01:30 (UTC)

• If it properly qualifies for speedy deletion under some criterion, such as patent nonsense the first time, then an identical article will qualify for speedy deletion under that very same criterion the second time, too. The change to the wording appears in part to prevent a prior speedy deletion by itself acting as justification for further speedy deletion, which, strictly speaking, the prior wording allowed (since speedy deletion is "deletion in accordance with the deletion policy"). Possibly a wording more like "A substantially identical copy, by any title, of an article that was deleted according to the deletion policy. This does not apply to content in userspace or to content undeleted according to undeletion policy. Recreation of content that was speedy deleted cannot be used as the sole criterion for deleting again." This would clarify that the exception in this criterion does not supersede other criteria. It looks like this proposal is going to pass, but perhaps proposing a clarification like this sometime after this vote is over might be a good idea. — Gwalla | Talk 7 July 2005 19:32 (UTC)
