Consider omitting "and structures"
[edit]

The above categories only apply to buildings, not structures. Is the longer name "and structures" necessary/appropriate? – Fayenatic London 07:25, 20 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for a slow reply, @Fayenatic london. This may now be moot ... but if not, then it seems to me to be a choice between consistency and avoiding redundancy. I am not sure which to prioritise. Any thoughts? --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 20:27, 22 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Right, that's exactly the choice. If you hadn't replied shortly, I was going to go ahead with the longer name anyway.
The category "…converted into mosques" includes Cave of the Patriarchs and Temple Mount, which indicate that the longer name will be appropriate in that case at least.
If I leave some with shorter but inconsistent names, not backed by consensus, then they would probably get speedily renamed under C2C anyway. So we might as well go straight to that. – Fayenatic London 21:08, 22 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds like a wise solution, @Fayenatic. Thanks again. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 04:33, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Duplicate pages on Wikidata
[edit]

Cases where both exist on Wikidata, to be considered for merging:

Not done, too much work as both categories exist for multiple countries
Done
Wikidata was not properly updated
[edit]

Many of the "Places of worship" categories are still linked to Wikidata, even though the pages were moved and redirected to "religious buildings and structures".

See wikidata:Wikidata:Project_chat#Categories_move_on_the_projects_does_not_result_in_the_move_on_Wikidata?

Those are now resolved.
Petscan identifies Wikidata items linked to enwiki category redirects. Thanks to Larske (talk · contribs) for that.
