Was the main article page deleted by accident due to the redirect? Karst (talk) 22:41, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops. My bad. I didn't realize it would get both the redirect and the target. I've restored the target. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. -- RoySmith (talk) 23:14, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Karst (talk) 10:34, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that Oh Ha-young has been deleted also, citing ‎WP:Articles for deletion/List of Apink concert tours. However, I can't see from that discussion why this page was deleted – any thoughts? Thanks. Wdchk (talk) 03:08, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That should redirect to the main page, there is a bio heading for her there. Karst (talk) 10:34, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to ask the same thing that Wdchk asked, isn't this AfD discussion was to delete the List of Apink concert tours' redirect? But you had deleted a lot more other redirects which some were necessary ones like A Pink, Park Cho-rong, Yoon Bo-mi etc, as they may have been wikilinked in other articles. I would like to ask you to kindly review all the Apink-related deletions at 22:20, Sept 21 (UTC) in your public log, to check which redirects are widely used in other articles and restore them, or else this may create a lot of red links, for example in List of Running Man episodes which I'm monitoring and contributing regularly. I would say that the Apink's alternate name & the members' (including the ex) individual article redirects will need to be restored. Thank you. – Edward (talk • contribs) 07:47, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, those redirects should be re-instated. Karst (talk) 10:34, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, I have no idea how that happened. I can only assume there's a bug in the script I use to close AfD which somehow caused it to go on a rampage. I will investigate and fix up the carnage. Unfortunately, I'm not sure when I'll get the chance to look into this, so if anybody else wants to go ahead and recreate those redirects, please feel free to do so. -- RoySmith (talk) 11:17, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Done the ones listed above. Karst (talk) 12:01, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I have a concern about recreating redirects – the loss of page history. Won't this be an issue if a page previously had content before being changed to a redirect? Wdchk (talk) 12:04, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
As I recall, the content of the page was moved to the Apink page a few months ago. Hence the redirect. Karst (talk) 12:20, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That tends to reinforce my point. If content is moved to another page, the history of the page it is moved from needs to be preserved for attribution. I think we need to get back to the original page history for any redirects deleted in error. Wdchk (talk) 12:58, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Seconded Wdchk's comment which is why I used the word "restored" instead of "recreated" at the first place. – Edward (talk • contribs) 14:32, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects restored

[edit]

I've restored (as far as I can tell) all of the deleted redirects. Please ping me if there's anything else that still needs cleaning up. -- RoySmith (talk) 00:07, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

RoySmith, thanks for doing this. Wdchk (talk) 14:31, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
