KEEP - I will admit I had never heard of Ben Breedlove until after his death. His last video made me cry. Not tears of sadness, but tears of joy, respect and stunned disbelief that all that life, beauty, insight and wisdom was crammed into his 18 years. I then looked around the Internet - and Ben is not a one-hit YouTube wonder. When he passed, he was not a "low-profile individual"; he was well known - and an inspiration to those who knew him personall and electronically. His "single event" occurred after quite some time of being in the public eye for many reasons - not just his healt condition, or his final video that went viral. He would have continued to be in the public eye his entire life. And he was. These things earn him a biographical article. Surely he cannot do more to show us how important his messages are to the world - particularly his last "single event". KEEP!

KEEP[edit]

It should be kept because others can surely find inspiration in the beauty of Ben's short life. No, it's not informational in the traditional sense of other Wikipedia stories but it satisfies a little background about who Ben Breedlove was. Keep it - it's not hurting anything. --Mak — Preceding unsigned comment added by Makaiisa (talkcontribs) 19:22, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

KEEP - I believe this information satisfies Wikipedia's requirements. Ben was a proven YouTube personality with many followers. As a 60-something woman, even I knew who Ben Breedlove was before his unfortunate death due to the fact that my neices and their friends watched him on YouTube at my home. I didn't know he had a heart problem until I'd heard he had died, but having watched a few of his little "tv/news shows" last summer, he could have grown to be the next Dan Rather or Walter Cronkite...he was that good. TOO SOON TO JUDGE[edit]

Obviously too soon to make any kind of judgement about this person's impact, and too soon to request that the page be deleted. Time is needed to determine whether Ben Breedlove will be of ongoing interest on other people. So silly to see this debate at this stage. Let's leave the page on Wikipedia -- can't the history of views on this page be logged daily or weekly? Let the numbers speak for themselves after a 6 month period.
