This article is inoffensive and possibly even (very) mildly amusing, but it seems no more than a private joke made in the hope that somebody will mistype "exploding whales". Jocular typo-alternatives to real articles will soon get very tedious and waste a lot of space. Hoary 02:58, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Obvious WP:BJAODN candidate. :-). Pretty funny, actually. But lets move it immediately: Wikipedia:Colorless_green_bad_jokes_and_other_deleted_nonsense_sleep_furiously#Exploding_Wales. I deleted the actual page (let's call it a speedy, or something...) — David Remahl 03:02, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Speedy was fine with me, but y'all could have made it a spelling redirect to the Exploding whales article, you know. Geogre 05:01, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • Spelling redirects are accepted, but at the moment, typo redirects are not. It is doubtful that anyone should spell "whales" incorrectly for any reason other than a mislaid finger. - Vague Rant 05:15, Nov 13, 2004 (UTC)
      • Or dyslexia. Or simply poor spelling in the English language. Spelling "whales" as "wales" (homonyms, i believe such words are called) is not unreasonable if English is not your first language. — David Remahl 05:57, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • My thought was that "Whale"/"Wale" is a pretty common misunderstanding and that young folk, in particular, would make the mistake. Geogre 15:55, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
