User:Jaakko.saario originally created the page Esa Saario under the wrong name Jaakko Saario, and later requested it to be moved to the correct name. This means that the page Jaakko Saario is now useless. Jaakko Saario and Esa Saario are different people, whether they are related I don't know, but that is not relevant here. Esa Saario is clearly notable but Jaakko Saario is not, and besides, I don't see why one person should redirect to another. All incoming links to this redirect are from Wikipedia's internal maintenance pages. Delete this. JIP | Talk 20:36, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

WP:PNS to a moribund portal that was recently replaced with an article redirect per MfD. Page views are almost zero.  — Scott talk 14:46, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally: this and the nomination below for #P:Freedom have led me to look at Category:Redirects to portal space. There are 641 "P:" redirects. I suspect the vast majority of them will be unlinked and have negligible traffic. What's the best way to investigate? Previous en masse nominations of shortcuts have often floundered (I'm thinking of examples like this in 2010 which was specifically on the topic of redirects to portal space; there were also others around 2014 when this was a hot topic).  — Scott talk 16:54, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment "P:" redirects to portals are specifically listed at WP:PNR, indicating that there is consensus for them to exist as a class. Main → Portal redirects are also explicitly excluded from WP:CSD#R2. I would therefore strongly advise against a mass nomination of P: redirects without first having gained consensus to deprecate the pseudo-namespace. Thryduulf (talk) 00:45, 30 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • I know that and I'm not suggesting one, hence the comment above.  — Scott talk 17:24, 31 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Delete all. Mistyped brackets or numbers, not useful as search terms. No incoming links. PC78 (talk) 09:08, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete the whole lot. No one is ever going to search for the mistyped versions. JIP | Talk 20:38, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was soft redirect to Wikt:w/. ~ Amory (utc) 13:37, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Inspired by the nomination of Wiki/ down below. I'm wondering what we should do with this redirect. I don't think the current target makes sense, given that "w/" only means "with" in the plain English meaning of the term and none of the articles in the disambiguation deal with that. Should we delete it? Should we retarget it to Main Page as a likely mistake per below? King of ♠ 02:53, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep or soft redirect to Wiktionary wikt:w/. Almost nobody is going to be helped by either deletion or retargetting this to the main page. Thryduulf (talk) 12:19, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Soft redirect to Wiktionary (wikt:wwikt:w/ (see additional comment below)-PS-2019-04-02) per Thryduulf's comment above. Similar to wiki/ and wiki\ below, this could also be an accidental attempt to get to https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php (the main page), but I think that is much more unlikely than either wiki/ or wiki\. Better to redirect to wiktionary (and barring that, with is still a better choice than deleting or redirecting to the main page as Thryduulf argued above). - PaulT+/C 21:28, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Relisting comment: Only two participants, and while they largely agree in concept, they seem to differ as to the specific target

  • Soft redirect to wikt:w wikt:w/. The current target is incorrect as "w/" is an abbreviation of the word "with" but the article With is about things named "With", which is unrelated to the word "with". JIP | Talk 13:58, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I still think that wikt:w/ is the better target, as that matches what people who intentionally used the slash are searching for, and we should prioritise correct results over typos. Thryduulf (talk) 09:54, 30 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • You're right, that's a better idea. JIP | Talk 16:28, 30 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I erred in my original comment and that error led Amorymeltzer to relist the discussion. My intended target for the soft direct to Wiktionary was wikt:w/ but I accidentally wrote out wikt:w. Sorry for the confusion and unnecessary discussion! I have amended my comment above to make this clear as well as referencing this new comment here. - PaulT+/C 19:00, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Thanks for the clarification!  I probably still would have relisted, so no need to apologize! ~ Amory (utc) 19:11, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Noted. However, your attention to detail should be commended! - PaulT+/C 19:14, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not the focus of the section, possibly WP:COSTLY B dash (talk) 15:46, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Barack Obama Day per Tavix. His actual birthday is mentioned directly on that page as well. Furthermore, Barack Obama Day (about 2 separate holidays in the US - only one of which is Obama's birthday) and Obama Day (the Kenyan holiday) should probably be merged into a single article as well, though that is for a separate XfD. - PaulT+/C 19:11, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
