The FLOf course is designed for you to build competency in the facilitation of blended and online courses. In this course you can apply online learning theories to the learning activities you are planning, create engaging learning activities that promote critical thinking and collaboration, and experiment with a variety of learning-facilitation strategies.

An active participation in the Wikipedia Assignment during the Modules 2/3/5 will allow you to build/ enhance your facilitation skills relating to the teaching of writing development, research, critical thinking, and media literacy.

Create an account and join this course page, using the enrollment link your instructor sent you. (Because of Wikipedia's technical restraints, you may receive a message that you cannot create an account. To resolve this, please try again off campus or the next day.)

Assignment - Sandbox Practice
My first impression of Working with Wikipedia

Go into your sandbox and briefly jot down your reflections in 3-5 sentences on your first steps in the Wikipedia Education environment. You can watch the brief tutorial on the instructions page 4.1 to learn how to access your sandbox space. Read the tutorial 'Drafting in the sandbox' before you start.

Everyone has begun their experimentation with Wikipedia by writing a blog post as well as  preparing the editorial work on a Wikipedia article of his/ her choice.

Assignment - Assign yourself an article and start planning your edits

Find an article of your choice (either from the suggested list in this course or some other topic that interests you. Decide what you will want to edit. Do you want to improve the text or add any visuals?  Then plan your edits and execute them in your sandbox.
