Wikipedia:WikiProject community rehabilitation/Idea/Appoint more Autoreviers

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Having more Autoreviewers benefits the project in various ways but in particular it reduces pressure at newpage patrol. I've recently started appointing Wikipedia:Autoreviewers, anyone can nominate another editor, its a painless process with a fairly clear admission criteria (75 articles created - understanding of notability and BLP). My experience is that content creators like to be made autoreviewers and to be able to post the userbox or topsymbol thingy on their page. I think that a drive to appoint more autoreviewers would also be a very positive way to build the community. ϢereSpielChequers 15:37, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can't say that I agree, and in fact I strongly oppose this. I would favor elimination of the Autoreviewer group as a whole as there have been several problems with unfit articles being created en mass by autoreviewers. When I do new page patrol I like to know that the articles I am patrolling come from all of the community, and that a select group of elites do not get to bypass the doublecheck that NPP provides.
