January 16[edit]

I wrote an article on Cecil T Jenkins, (aka) Sesil J and it was rejected Please let me know why?

Sesil J. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.161.145.91 (talk) 02:30, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The decline reason is given in the grey box in the middle of the pink one on the page itself. Please can you supply the exact name of the article you submitted if you want a more detailed answer to your question. Rankersbo (talk) 08:30, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, so 01. Why declined? And 02. Please tell me how I can get my political party listed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.239.104.163 (talk) 02:47, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The reviewer felt that it was written such as to promote the party. Political parties need significant coverage in independent sources to be included. Rankersbo (talk) 08:28, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I just submitted edits; want to make sure that my edits went through as it doesn't show that anything was submitted today. Thank you.Mghovan (talk) 06:37, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You've made a change, but the article was not re-submitted. Do you want me to submit it? Rankersbo (talk) 08:21, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I haven't been on for a while, but I would love to keep my ZEEKtheFREAK page going, but I must admit,I am having difficulty getting started...is there Editing Wipipedia for dummies,I can maybe use. I have a question over references,I have newspaper clippings and wonder if that was useable.

Thank you for your time and I hope I can finally get this started thank you Yours Steven (zeek58) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zeek58 (talkcontribs) 12:10, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Zeek58, there's a good intro at WP:Your first article. If this article is about yourself though, I strongly suggest you read WP:Autobio to see why that's a bad idea. Note your draft was deleted due to sitting too long without being edited, but if you look on your Talk page it explains how to get it un-deleted if you want to develop it further. Newspaper articles that you have on paper are admissible (ones available online are easier for others to check, but not mandatory), but if you use the clippings make sure you mention what newspaper and what date they're from (and if possible what page). Hello Wikipedia,

I've edited a few articles and submitted my first, that was declined. Can you help me out what I did wrong for Trailermatics?

Many thanks

That submission was declined for the reasons given in the pink box at the top of that page. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 09:48, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What is the structure of the novel of The Old Man and the Sea? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.8.39.7 (talk) 15:29, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

37.8.39.7, this page is for questions about draft articles for Wikipedia, not general questions. For that, visit Wikipedia:Reference desk. MatthewVanitas (talk) 16:48, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Please do your own homework.
Welcome to Wikipedia. Your question appears to be a homework question. I apologize if this is a misinterpretation, but it is our aim here not to do people's homework for them, but to merely aid them in doing it themselves. Letting someone else do your homework does not help you learn nearly as much as doing it yourself. Please attempt to solve the problem or answer the question yourself first. If you need help with a specific part of your homework, feel free to tell us where you are stuck and ask for help. If you need help grasping the concept of a problem, by all means let us know.. BTW, the Reference desk won't do homework either. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 16:53, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done I wish to change the name from "Col. John C. Young" to "John C. Young". Can you explain how I can do this? My article is still in the draft stage. Submission name: Col. John C. Young.Gtxroadrunner (talk) 17:10, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Gtxroadrunner. Renamed, moved to AFC space, and I fixed your infobox (you were missing the closing curlicues at the end of the box code). MatthewVanitas (talk) 17:39, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a reason why this is not approved? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobvanzandt (talkcontribs) 19:09, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes there is, it is explained in and below the pink box at the top of the page. The box also contains links to guideline pages whre you can find further information to help you fix the problem. If after all that you still need assistance you are welcome to return here. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 20:08, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
