Suspected sockpuppets

There are around 8 or more IP addresses who are definitely operated by the same person. They are all editing the Life & Education section of the Maryam Nawaz Sharif article. Everytime one IP edits gets reverted a new IP address appears. Many keep saying ' She ran Away With Captain Safdar' . So many can be connected by this phrase.   • Comment This needs to be found out is not a registered username and there is no such user.[1]. So I guess TheIrishWarden was trying to convey that he is not aware of who the Sockmaster is. this primarily seems to be an IP vandalism. agreed PAge protection is the way to go. --DBigXray 14:10, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I was right about my guess above [2] The page is already semi-protected. As we are now armed with the knowledge that there is no such user, now what are we going to do with this SPI page and the User talk:This needs to be found out . (delete both of them ? ) as i guess its not appropriate to keep talk pages and SPI reports on non existent users. --DBigXray 14:20, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • The named account has zero contribs and zero deleted contribs, so there is nothing that can be compared to. Checkuser won't link IPs to names publicly. In this situation, you need to go to WP:RFPP and request semi-protection for any page that is being vandalized or full protection if there is edit warring going on. There isn't much else we can do.
