Suspected sockpuppets

Two newly created SPA accounts that solely focus on changing or altering years of birth with no sources or edit summaries to verify actions. Came to my attention when Saintwar (whose account was opened yesterday) edited several article I created. When I asked Saintwar about his references, he immediately stopped editing with that account (see time stamp of my diff). Within minutes, Justishow re-edited the exact same articles (see time stamps at Van Usher, Joe Griffin (basketball) and Grady Livingston).

The original editor, who I surmise to be Slideshot since it's the oldest account that I'm aware of, clearly acknowledged what he was doing with this edit summary ("SOURCE 1970?"), implying a state of agitation as if me telling him he needs references was too much to ask.

I would also like to point out that entire point of the word "circa" is to imply it's an inexact year of birth and that c. 1970 already shows that it's not necessarily 100% certain. Yet these users (or, rather, this user) doesn't understand that and keeps insisting on adding question marks to the articles.

I am also requesting that a Checkuser be performed, not only because this is clearly a sockpuppet case, but also because I want to be sure there are no lurkers out there that are doing the same types of edits as Slideshot. Jrcla2 (talk) 13:56, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • This is all very ducky, however I agree a CU would help flush out any sleepers. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 14:59, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • Regarding the User:Ok lets go play bb account, they seemed to have gravitated towards the same edits as the other confirmed accounts; that is their sole purpose appears to be to muck about with birthdate persondata and categories. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 16:39, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
      • Further: I told Slideshot at 13:46 on January 17th that I was opening an SPI case against him. Lo and behold, User:Ok lets go play bb, an SPA account, makes its first edit at 14:17 on January 17th and exactly mirrors the patterns of the other accounts. With Slideshot's history of abandoning one SPA in favor of another once someone is on to him, I don't see how this new account can stand on its own merit. Indef block all and put an IP block in place, please. Jrcla2 (talk) 17:01, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've blocked the above accounts as duck accounts of blocked master User:Slideshot, however if the underlying IP(s) could be blocked to slow down account creation it would be appreciated. Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 15:32, 19 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
