Suspected sockpuppets

[edit]

Three WP:SPA (first sock declared WP:COI) having a summary conversation [1][2][3] with themselves on Talk:Dominic Ng before proceeding to a WP:BLP content dispute on the article page. See history at Dominic Ng. This appears to be an attempt to simulate a consensus for a COI editor. If CU doesn't indicate socks, please consider action per WP:MEAT. Hello, my name is Angie and I'm an employee of East West Bank. I attempted to disclose my conflict of interest on the article's Talk page, but I see my post has been removed, along with my attempt at submitting an edit request about the subject's early life and educational background.
Since last week, I've been able to investigate further. I've not linked every account to specific employees, but I can confirm that more than one East West Bank employee has created an account in an attempt to address problematic text within the Dominic Ng Wikipedia article. I can also confirm that I've asked for an immediate stop to any activity on Wikipedia, and I've made clear I would like to be the sole representative for East West Bank on Wikipedia moving forward. I am joining this situation belatedly and I wish I had known what was going on sooner.
I anticipate some of the accounts mentioned on this page may be blocked or restricted in some way, and that's understandable. However, I would ask Wikipedia editors to consider allowing me to post edit requests on the article's Talk page for others to review. It remains true that there is problematic text within the biography and I would like to share my concerns and suggest changes. I will not be editing any articles directly and I expect no activity from other employees.
I would like to re-post my attempts at disclosing my conflict of interest and edit request, but I am reluctant to do anything until I have permission. Can editors please confirm what I'm able to post on the article's Talk page (or here?) in order to resolve this situation and move forward in good standing? I understand some rules have been broken but I anticipate full compliance from now on. Hoping for continued cooperation. East West AOT (talk) 07:07, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
