Suspected sockpuppets[edit]


Anoka Primrose Abeyrathne has been heavily edited (in a very non-NPOV way) by a long series of SPAs, each of which would make a few edits, and then never edit again. I've just listed the four most recent here. Most recently, Avengersarise reverted [1] a series of article improvements made after the article appeared at WP:COIN, with the SPA claiming "vandalism" by a "malicious source." Pangeatonks then jumped in to remove a cn template with an edit summary of "Contact the University of Cambridge Judge Business School for verification which is readily available," [2], phrasing very similar to that used by Avengersarise [3] when they restored several unsourced educational claims. This pattern of serial SPA editing dates back to the article's creation in 2013. If you look at the full list of edits for the article, pretty much every editor ID in red is an SPA. I've requested semi-protection for the article, which has been granted. BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 15:01, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Update: User:Nisallakmal has been blocked indefinitely (by NinjaRobotPirate) as a spam/advertising-only account, also undisclosed paid editing. User:Avengersarise and User:Pangeatonks have been checkuserblocked. User:Cambot45 was blocked in March as the username implied a bot. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 16:02, 9 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Clerk, CheckUser, and/or patrolling admin comments[edit]

  • I didn't realize until now that this had an open CU request. Avengersarise and Pangeatonks are  Confirmed to each other, but it's difficult to say whether they're related to anyone else because they seem to be logging in from an airport. Nisallakmal and Raptor8532t are  Possible to each other. The others are too stale to check. If they start editing again, let me know. I'll block Raptor8532t as a suspected sock puppet of Nisallakmal, but, otherwise, I'm satisfied with just closing this for now. Nisallakmal is the oldest account here and is what looks like the most likely master of any sock puppets. I'd suggest moving the case to his name, but I leave the decision to a clerk.
