Suspected sockpuppets

Evidence submitted by DrKiernan

User:Finneganw (previous account: User:Aussiebrisguy),

A page that he created David Logan (playwright) is up for deletion. Both that and the deletion page have attracted an unusual number of new accounts who are defending the page, in a similar manner to his previous accounts, e.g. Alexiacolby (talk · contribs) and Harrietbrown (talk · contribs).

At least one of those (Davidcs73 (talk · contribs)) edits from the identical IP range and location (144.138.109.121 (talk · contribs)) as the previous accounts as shown by this edit [3]. DrKiernan (talk) 10:07, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For more details of past socking by Finneganw, see the Topic Ban discussion about restricting him from Anna Anderson. In that thread, Sarah reports getting email from this editor that I would consider improper. There is a currently active AfD in which socking by Finneganw is mentioned. Editors in that AfD suggest that the David Logan (playwright) article is being supported by a COI-affected editor, who is possibly the same person as Finneganw, and have questioned the truth of some of the claims in the article. There is no indication from Finneganw that he realizes that anything is amiss with his behavior. I think this editor will soon be in need of a community ban. (Such a ban might not slow him down much, but would give checkusers increased authority for dealing with his various socks). EdJohnston (talk) 14:49, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Finneganw (talk · contribs) is  Confirmed Zoestrimmer (talk · contribs), he also has a habit of logging out to make edits that appear to be in support of edit warring. The other three are Red X Unrelated. Brandon (talk) 15:54, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
