I ran through WP:SIGNS and I strongly suspect that these three new editors are just more sockpuppets in Dr90s' ever-expanding sock stable.
This guy is sadly predictable. He only edits articles related to Shigeru Miyamoto and only to remove Mr. Miyamoto from or reduce him in the articles (e.g. one of a huge number of similar diffs - note the edit summary). This editor's modus operandi includes certain obvious and repeated characteristics. Thus he nearly always makes a string of edits reducing Miyamoto followed by a final edit on some unrelated and trivial editorial detail (e.g. adding italics, removing whitespace, linking something innocuous). I believe this final edit is intended to throw off subsequent editors. Dr90s and his socks frequently use misleading edit summaries such as "added designers," and his edit summaries often cite policy whether or not the policy cited supports the edit. He rarely uses the discussion phase of BRD, and he completely refuses to use the Discussion phase before reverting a second time (to retain his initial "Bold" edit) despite the numerous warnings he has received.

Considering the time periods involved in this case (Dr90s has been involved in revert warring under the name 43.244.132.168 since April 1, 2008) and the large number of socks and edits, I believe CheckUser is appropriate. To demonstrate the "dozens" of vandalistic acts accomplished by this user I have included here over 4 dozen.

A review of the edit histories of these socks reveal a great number of similar edits on a great number of other Miyamoto-related articles.

Is there some way to permanently ban the IPs? This guy is unrepentant, purposely misleading, and has caused enormous problems at all of the pages he has edited. Furthermore, his monothematic attack of Mr. Miyamoto's accomplishments is borderline slander, and completely inappropriate at Wikipedia. He has used perhaps as many as 8 accounts now and has returned to cause mayhem twice after his original act of socking. Recently, editors at The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time have noticed that User:Sunglle has begun making edits similar in nature to those of former puppetmaster Dr90s. The main purpose of this editor and his sockpuppets has been to remove references to video game designer, Shigeru Miyamoto from articles on wikipedia, or to downplay his involvement with various accomplishment he has been credited with. Although User:Sunglle has only made 12 edits so far at wikipedia, nearly half of them have been to remove or downplay Mr. Miyamoto's involvements. evidence:

Despite the similarities between User:Sunglle's edits and those of Dr90s, I was determined to give this editor the benefit of the doubt, however my suspicions were greatly heightened when I discovered that my worries were shared by other users. Immediately following a post made by an editor at Talk:The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time expressing concern that User:Sunglle was the same as User:Dr90s, User:Sunglle made the following edit:

As evidence from User:Sunglle's edit summaries indicates his familiarity with Wikipedia editing (e.g. use of "rvv" to mean "reverting vandalism"), User:Sunglle must be aware how serious a charge of sockpuppetry is. Given this user's apparent familiarity with Wikipedia it is hard to imagine why User:Sunglle would attempt to hide such an accusation rather than to deal with it through discussion unless this user's true identity was the same as User:Dr90s.

Rationale for Use of CheckUser
I have hesitated to file this report, however I think it is prudent to follow up on this possibility due to the great problems User:Dr90s has been known to cause with his serious pattern vandalism and his uncompromising and tendentious editing style. As previously noted (in the last sock report for Dr90s), User:Dr90s commonly uses two IP addresses from which he edits. Although one of these IPs (43.244.132.168) is currently blocked for socking, the block in place on the other one (133.2.9.161) has expired 3 months ago. I believe it is quite likely that User:Dr90s (under the sock name of User:Sunglle) is now operating again from IP address 133.2.9.161. For this reason I believe it is important to use Checkuser to verify the likelihood of this scenario.

Characteristic behavior of puppetmaster Dr90s: Removal or downplay of all mention of video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto from wikipedia. Related addition and promotion of other people to take the place previously attributed to Miyamoto.

These 10 difs are just the tip of the iceberg for this problem editor who has now conducted over 5 dozen vandalistic edits to remove Mr. Miyamoto's name from wikipedia articles or to obscure/downplay his involvement in activities he had been credited with. He has displayed clear evidence that he is familiar with the rules of Wikipedia and he has demonstrated a flagrant and mocking disregard of them by citing them to explain edits he has made in violation of them particularly. His edits are disheartening to new editors as well as to established editors. He has made numerous personal attacks (e.g. dif11 (User:Thisgift), dif12 (User:Sergei semenovich1)), and eschews BRD editing in favor of edit warring despite warnings and the pleading of his fellow editors. It is quite apparent from his multiple returns (this is the 4th incarnation by my count) that he has no intention to cease his pattern of serious vandalism, and he is fully aware of the value (to himself) of sleeper accounts.

The removal/reduction of Mr. Miyamoto's name seems to be part of a personal vendetta against Miyamoto. While the appearance of Miyamoto's name in articles may be offensive to Dr90s and his socks, it is policy that Wikipedia is not censored. Although negative information about Miyamoto has not been inserted by this user as far as I can see, the removal of Miyamoto's name from positions he is credited with having occupied skirts the edge of defamation of Miyamoto's character. Because Mr. Miyamoto is a living person, this would constitute a violation of WP:BLP which states that "[f]rom both a legal and ethical standpoint it is essential that a determined effort be made to eliminate defamatory and other undesirable information from these articles as far as possible."

Further evidence that it is the same user can be drawn from his obsessive pattern of edits concerning game rankings. Edits such as these are illustrative of the game-ranking edits performed by convicted Dr90s socks:

Specific Reason why Use of CheckUser is Appropriate
Having been involved with at least 3 prior SPIs related to this obsessive user, I believe that he has two major IPs from which he operates. Blocking both of these IPs a few SPIs ago proved to be an extremely effective way of curbing his vandalism. Records show that the two IPs are subject to the following blocks:

It is extremely likely in my opinion that the accused socks here as well as many other sleeper socks whose edits I have not yet identified are all being operated from IP address 133.2.9.161.

I believe it is well worth the time required to conduct a CheckUser to examine this user's IP information and other server log data. This editor displays a long history of serious pattern vandalism and is exceptionally disruptive to Wikipedia. He is extremely comfortable with bad-faith editing and I believe it is essential that a determined effort be made to eliminate the defamatory influence of the edits he is making. He is a frequent user of sleeper socks (e.g. I just discovered the extremely suspicious Honmatrix1 a few minutes ago while gathering difs for this SPI), and I think that due to this user's history it would be exceptionally prudent to conduct a full investigation.

I don't want to beat a dead horse, but this is just one example of an even earlier case against a Dr90s sock. There are earlier reports as well since by the filing of this report, Dr90s was already an identified puppeteer. This case doesn't show up here since the format of SPI changed and it was a confusion of sock with master anyway, but I think it's relevant here to help illustrate how persistent and problematic this editor is. These editors are all following the same pattern of edits favored by puppetmaster Dr90s: Removal of content related to Shigeru Miyamoto (1), characteristic involvement with game reviews/rank scores (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7), and edits made to Dr90s' favorite target articles (on the topics of Legend of Zelda, Mario, and Resident Evil).

Timeline of account creation between these users is astoundingly close with sometimes only minutes between edits from one account and creation of a new account.

User:43.244.132.168 is a confirmed sockpuppet account now editing the same articles again in the same contentious manner only 20 days after having returned from a 6 month ban.

This editor arrived a few months ago and attracted my attention due to the fact that his name was so similar to the former major contributor, Haipa Doragon. I wrote Haipa Doragon to find out if this was an alternate account, and he wrote me back that it was not him and that he suspected Dr90s' involvement. Given the nature of the edits made by this user in the recent past, I have become very concerned that this may be yet another Dr90s sockpuppet.

I'll start by discussing the meaningfully matching WP:SIGNS:
1.2 - Precocious edit history - Green tickY - Within 70 edits, this user has managed to get heavily involved in major disagreements on 2 articles. He cites wikipolicy about every other edit, and demonstrates a remarkable grasp of even rather complex issues like WP:SYNTH. I would be very surprised if he has never edited at Wikipedia before.
1.3 - Editing identical articles - Green tickY - The two articles this user has edited are the articles on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Shigeru Miyamoto. As has been demonstrated again and again (in earlier Dr90s cases above), both of these are particular pet obsessions of Dr90s.
1.3.1 - Edit warring - Borderline - This user has not violated 3RR, but he has been engaged in back-and-forth reverts that come right up to the 3RR-line and have been characterized by other editors at talk as "edit warring."
1.4 - Chronology of edits - Borderline - Dr90s has presumably been absent from Wikipedia for about 4 months. If this user is Dr90s, his first edit comes about 2 months after his last ban.
1.4.1 - Accounts with occasional usage - Green tickY - This user has edited in spurts. Between his first day editing and his second, over 50 days passed. After engaging in two major content disputes in the next six days, he then disappeared for 21 days before returning for his most recent round of 4 more days of content dispute and quasi edit warring.
1.5 - Geography - Green tickY - Dr90s has admitted to and is known to edit from the Tokyo area of Japan. Both of the two IP addresses he has used in the past are Japanese addresses. This new user has three (non-sock) accounts in the metawiki. The name in this report is his en.wiki account. His other two accounts are with ja.wiki (here) and with ja.wiktionary (here). This indicates to me that he's probably editing from Japan just like Dr90s.
1.6 - Similar writing/editing styles - Green tickY - This editor has a very similar style to Dr90s. This is discussed in more depth below.
1.8 - Single-purpose accounts - Borderline - This user has edited only 70 times and only in 2 articles so it's kind of hard to call this a single-purpose account in good faith.


I'll now conclude with a fuller explanation of the similarities between Dr90s' and Haipa dragoon's editing styles:
Diminishment of Shigeru Miyamoto
In his very first edit (dif 1), Haipa dragoon restores one of Dr90s' favorite edits (see Dr90s dif A, Dr90s sock dif B, Dr90s sock dif C, Dr90s sock dif D, etc., etc.). These edits all share a single purpose of diminishing the position of game designer Shigeru Miyamoto (who has proven to be a particular target of Dr90s' vandalism). While it's always necessary to keep an objective perspective and realize that disagreements may arise from time to time, the re-ordering of the names to position Miyamoto last seems to be a particular move that only Dr90s has thought of and that only Dr90s cares about. Apart from Dr90s, the only other editor I have seen make the same reordering is Haipa dragoon... Apart from the Zelda article, the other article that Haipa dragoon has edited is the article on Shigeru Miyamoto. His edits here have been characterized by an interest in removing games from a shortened "gameography" section. I would characterize these edits as attempts to diminish Miyamoto's oeuvre, and to minimize the influence he has had on the games he directed. These are the sorts of actions I would expect from Dr90s.
Interest in promoting Eiji Aonuma
Related to Dr90s' general attempts to discredit or diminish Miyamoto, Dr90s has also worked hard to promote the work of director Eiji Aonuma. I believe the reason for this is nothing more complicated than a backdoor method of undercutting Miyamoto, but it has become another signature characteristic of Dr90s in time. (Although I don't address it directly here, I believe the same rationale holds regarding Dr90s' attempts to discredit the games Miyamoto has been involved with as a kind of Plan B if Dr90s is unsuccessful in detaching Miyamoto's name from the game in question.) Here are several difs of Haipa dragoon promoting Eiji Aonuma: dif 2, dif 3, dif 4. and here are some examples of Dr90s promoting Aonuma: Dr90s sock dif E, Dr90s sock dif F, Dr90s sock dif G.
Interest in Game Rankings
Another obsession of Dr90s has been Game Rankings and reviewer scores. Again I believe this is often tied to a Plan B attempt to diminish the games Miyamoto has worked on when Dr90s is unsuccessful at removing him through belligerence. The interest in Game Reviews does extend beyond Miyamoto-related articles, however, and there are several examples of Dr90s making ranking-related edits to other articles. Wikipedian02 created the artical GameRatio @ 11:41 24 March 2010 - his first edit. I taged the artivcal CSD A7 at 11:56, at 12:20 Majorphase removed the CSD tag. It was later Prod'ed and is now up for AfD.

Wikipedian02 made 3 further edits on the 24th after the CSD tag was placed one of them to create Game Ratio as a redirect to his new artical and the other two were to Grand Theft Auto IV and has not edited since.

During the AfD I tagged both Majorphase and Sesu Primer as WP:SPA, Majorphase then continuity tried to remove the tags for both accounts - posting this to my talk page defending him and Sesu Primer.

Sesu Primer has made a total of 5 main space edits, the first to Final Fantasy XII 7 mins before Majorphase made this edit toFinal Fantasy XII

When you look at the list of main space articles the three accounts have edited :

It has recently been brought to my attention that User:Vesperydia has been making Dr90s-like edits at a few Zelda pages that User:Dr90s has been known to frequent. The Versperydia account is fairly recent and as yet there are only 15 edits to its name however I agree with the suggestion that even these few edits are very suspicious. I am filing this report on behalf of User:Autonova following a discussion we had on my talk page, and I share his suspicions. Below I will address WP:SIGNS and then discuss specific Dr90s pattern behavior.

WP:SIGNS
1.2 - Precocious edit history - checkY - Within 13 edits this editor has begun to cite wikipolicy and to threaten established editors with bans for their violation. The editor demonstrates understanding of WP:NPA, WP:WORDS, and WP:SOCK. This does not appear to be a legitimately new editor.
1.3 - Editing identical articles - checkY - The two articles this user has edited are the articles on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The Ocarina of Time article has been a focus of Dr90s' efforts for the past several months and the edits made to Twilight Princess seem to provide yet another example of Dr90s' "Plan B" behavior briefly discussed in the last report and covered in more detail below.
1.3.1 - Edit warring - Borderline - There is no evidence of this particular account edit warring. He has performed an undo operation on an IP editor at the Twilight Princess article and he has restored certain edits most recently made by convicted Dr90s sock, User:Haipa dragoon. If Vesperydia is the same person then this is but a continuation of the prior edit war.
1.4 - Chronology of edits - Borderline - Dr90s was last seen 3 months ago. His previous leave of absence was 4 months long.
1.4.1 - Accounts with occasional usage - checkY - This user has edited in spurts. Between his first day editing and his second, over 40 days passed. The account has only been active on 3 separate dates.
1.5 - Geography - checkY - Dr90s has admitted to and is known to edit from the Tokyo area of Japan. Both of the two IP addresses he has used in the past are Japanese addresses. This new user has two (non-sock) accounts in the metawiki. The name in this report is his en.wiki account. His other accounts is with ja.wiki (here) This indicates to me that he's probably editing from Japan just like Dr90s.
1.6 - Similar writing/editing styles - checkY - This editor has a similar style to Dr90s. This is discussed in more depth below.
1.8 - Single-purpose accounts - Borderline - In the 1.5 months since the account was created, this editor has only edited 2 articles. On the other hand there have only been 15 edits total.

Dr90s Pattern Behavior:

  • Interest in promoting Eiji Aonuma - This is described more fully in the February 4, 2010 report on convicted Dr90s sock Haipa dragoon. Edits like this by User: Vesperydia demonstrate a particular interest in Aonuma as well as an attempt to characterize Aonuma as the director rather than Shigeru Miyamoto (an obsession of Dr90s).
  • Interest in Game Rankings - Edits like these: example 1, example 2, and example 3 show a Dr90s-like concern for game rankings (also discussed in the Debruary 4, 2010 report). Example #3 in particular represents a restoration of the article to its former state as preferred by Dr90s sock Haipa dragoon. This is an edit against consensus which has been formed only months ago after long discussions which can still be seen on the article's talk page.
  • "Plan B" behavior - This was alluded to in my last report. Dr90s tends to attempt secondary means to undermine the position of those he is engaged in a dispute with. For example, when Dr90s received resistance to his repeated attempts to erase Shigeru Miyamoto's name from the Ocarina of Time article he next began to edit the article on Eiji Aonuma to alter it to reflect the idea that Aonuma was the only director for Ocarina of Time. This sort of "Plan B" behavior can be seen here clearly as Vesperydia's edits reflect this editor's attempts to advance an agenda not only on one article Ocarina of Time edit but also on others Twilight Princess.

Other Evidence to consider:
Two final scraps:
1)When the suggestion was posed by User:Autonova that Vesperydia was a sock of Dr90s, Verperydia's reaction was to delete the suggestion from talk under a WP:NPA rationale. This may perhaps have been proper, however it is extremely uncommon behavior for a new user to be making on only the 12th edit.
2)Verperydia's first 3 edits are peculiar. It appears that this user was trying to make sure that the user name and talk page for Verperydia were not redlinks which would indicate to experienced editors that this was a new user. I can't imagine any rationale for this kind of behavior unless Vesperydia was trying to disguise the newness of the account. Such actions do not strike me as the kinds of edits made by new users.

I suspect that this is another Dr90s sockpuppet but at the very least I am nearly certain that this editor has edited here in the past for long enough to know some wikipolicy and to know of latent editorial prejudice against editwar-like edits made by newcomers that mirror former puppetmasters. On the Talk:Keio University page these editors have a consistent style of editing and the users Wiki wiki64 and 58.11.48.112 have only ever edited that page, JFK01 has only ever edited that page and one userpage in reference to Keio. Spelling and grammar mistakes are similar across all accounts and the points brought up by each follow the same style; such as both Wikipedian05 using the phrase "...ALWAYS delete much information" here and JFK01 using "...ALWAYS delete much information" here. Other than the account Wikipadian05 the accounts seem to be throw-away. The editor seems to be mainly concerned with University rankings. Colincbn (talk) 02:35, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As I am neither an Admin nor (obvioulsy) a CheckUser my only reasons for suspecting these accounts are the Quack test. I admit that if the accounts above are in-fact separate users from the same non-English speaking country, then similar grammatical errors is not that surprising. However, In reading through the discussion other things; such as the accounts being created making one or two posts in support of each-other then not posting again, also set my alarms off. In reference to the findings below, it seems that there may be some violation going on, but if the accounts are not shown to edit the same pages nor to vote multiple times in one debate what is the standard response, if any? I noticed some of the accounts listed here have had account creation blocked. Is that the "official" response or should we wait for more input from admins? In looking through the contributions of the accounts below some of them have in fact been editing the same pages. If the user shares a computer with others is there a way for them to avoid sanctions? I assume if the users do not reply to this investigation the repercussions will be more drastic than if they explain their situation (roommates, same school, etc). Oddly, the accounts listed here are technically Red X Unrelated, but I'm not completely sure I trust those results.

The first four in the second group all show a similar interest in video games, and appear to display similar mannerisms in edit summaries. I am requesting a merger for a number of SPIs that I believe are all related. The SPIs to be merged into this one are here (Puppetmaster:Majorphase) and here (Puppetmaster:Wikipedian05) and in addition I am bringing charges against User:Wikipedian06 (currently banned for vandalism). The similarities of the socks in these SPIs is so strong that while each individual may escape the taint of association with a much older puppetmaster, taken as a whole I believe they demonstrate (exceptionally clearly in some instances) that they are actually nothing more than yet further socks of the same pernicious former user.

All characters named in this report are currently blocked/banned and there is no immediacy to this request however for the sake of bookkeeping and in order to reduce confusion with similar claims, I believe these cases should all be merged. My specific discussion of the similarities between the puppetmasters follows:

Drakes Fortune & Ikemen
I had been watching these two characters off and due to earlier suspicions that they were sockpuppets of Dr90s. To begin with, User:Drakes Fortune had engaged in combative editing at the article on Famitsu (a video game magazine). As a brand new user, use of editing shorthands like "rv" for revert and his citations to Wikipolicy essays such as BRD demonstrated an unusual precocity. The unreasonableness of the reversions (reversions to sourced information added by an experienced editor - me) made me suspect that there may be a level of personal enmity involved in User:Drakes Fortune's edits. To the best of my knowledge the only person who might consider me an "enemy" at Wikipedia is Dr90s (due to my repeated SPI filings). In addition, his name is interesting inasmuch as it evokes the name of the video game, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, an article previously edited numerous times by Dr90s socks, Eisai Dekisugi (ex. 1) and Kukule (ex. 2). Anyway with only 3 edits to User:Drakes Fortune's name I didn't think I had enough to go on to file a report.

My suspicions regarding User:Ikemen were much stronger. His Dr90s-style is almost unmistakable. The account is a single-purpose account, having only edited the Ocarina of Time article (Dr90s' favorite subject) and mainly to reduce or diminish the importance of Shigeru Miyamoto within the article (Dr90s' favorite target). Edits like this, where Ikemen uses a misleading edit summary to rearrange the order of the directors placing Miyamoto's name last, are favorite edits by Dr90s. I believe his intention is to diminish Miyamoto's importance by positioning him last in the list. Further edits like this and this are classic Dr90s revert-war edits. User:Ikemen's contentious edits were brought up in talk here and he was accused of being a sockpuppet (presumably of Dr90s) here.

Now that I see the two editors Drakes Fortune and Ikemen identified as socks of the same person my fears have become concrete and this has prompted me to examine the record of their alleged puppet master, Wikipedian05.

  • Japanese - editing Japanese articles, has a Japanese account. This is actually a common trait of nearly every user in this report - with most socks having alternate Japanese accounts (usually auto-created under SUL).
  • Dr90s behavior:
    • Editing similar articles - Wikipedian05 has edited on video game topics such as Famitsu and most notably Resident Evil (an area Dr90s is known to be interested in - having edited these articles with as many as 8 socks in the past): Wikipedian05 edit
    • Interest in Rankings - While Dr90s' interest in rankings seems to be most centered on video game rankings and Wikipedian05's is on schools, I find controversial edits (that tend to dismiss and remove sources) like the following to look quite similar to Dr90s' style: example 1, 2, 3, etc.
    • Sock naming style - Dr90s often uses trailing digits in the names of his socks (e.g. Akane7000, Millionaire01, Progamer100, etc.) just as Wikipedian05 demonstrates with his own name and his socks, Specialcontact6 and Hot06. Dr90s also likes to use a binary naming scheme for his socks (e.g. Dailypilot, Loopgive, Meetsstood, etc.) just as Wikipedian05 demonstrates with his socks Civilsuit and Specialcontact6. I'm not sure how much weight to give this but Dr90s also seems to favor legalistic binary names (e.g. Lawsbeen, Legaldozen, Swungscale, The Justice1, etc.) just as Wikipedian05 demonstrates with his sock Civilsuit.

I am now convinced that Wikipedian05 and all of his socks are in fact socks of Dr90s and I think the SPIs should be merged.

Prior to filing this report I decided to make a further examination of editors with similar names due to much earlier suspicions I have kept to myself about a possible connection between Dr90s and User:Wikipedian06. Seeing that Wikipedian05 had been connected to Drakes Fortune and especially Ikemen immediately brought to mind Wikipedian06 for me and with this in mind I examined a number of WikipedianXX-style accounts. Not too surprisingly these searches were fruitful.

Wikipedian02
It turns out that User:Wikipedian02 has also previously been swept up in an SPI for a character named User:Majorphase. The binary-style of his name immediately reminds me of Dr90s. Examining his edits we find numerous game-ranking-related edits relating to an AfD for the article GameRatio (ex. 1). This is common behavior in Dr90s socks who have participated in at least 3 other AfDs in the past including game-ranking topics, TopTenReviews (ex. 2 and 3) and VG Chartz (ex. 4). Majorphase has also made numerous edits to Final Fantasy articles (a common Dr90s topic previously edited by Dr90s socks Kukule, Thisgift, and Truthconveyer).

Looking at Wikipedian02's edits we find numerous edits to the a Grand Theft Auto article (ex. 5) - one of Dr90s' favorite topics (ex. 6 and 7). Looking at User:Sesu Primer's edits we find edits to the AfD for GameRatio as well as Final Fantasy edits. The name of this user is peculiar as well in that it is strongly reminiscent of the (now-semi-retired) established WP:VG member, User:Sesu Prime. This is not the first time Dr90s has adopted this technique to masquerade as an established but retired/inactive member of WP:VG. The Dr90s sock, User:Haipa dragoon was created, I believe, with the intention of masquerading as (then-semi-inactive) User:Haipa Doragon. This again lends support to the likelihood that Majorphase/Wikipedian02/Sesu Primer are all identical to Dr90s.

Finally we turn to Wikipedian06.

Wikipedian06
I have long been suspicious of the possibility that Wikipedian06 was the same as Dr90s. The suspicions were mainly based on similarity of viewpoint and highly similar combative editing styles, however these suspicions are now backed up by the fact that the username "Wikipedian06" is so highly to that of Wikipedian05 and Wikipedian02. With this in mind I examined Wikipedian06's edits a long time ago but I was never able to find any definitive proof that there was an actual connection to Dr90s. Here are some suggestive evidences:

Diffs like this and this show that Wikipedian06 shares Dr90s' views regarding the diminishment of Shigeru Miyamoto from the article and that these views are rather emotionally held.

In this thread Wikipedian06 demonstrates his typical combative and uncivil discussion style while championing arguments that Dr90s is well-known for (e.g. Ocarina of Time is not generally considered the best game ever; Grand Theft Auto 4 and other titles are among the greatest games ever; etc.). This same thread shows that in the course of the discussions Wikipedian's views are endorsed by two Dr90s socks, Eisai Dekisugi and 43.244.132.168.

Wikipedian06's talkpage also demonstrates repeated 3RR warnings.

I admit that this connection is tenuous compared to the Dr90s-Wikipedian05-Majorphase connections discussed earlier. I am not convinced that this is in fact a sock.   • As I've been invited to comment, here's what I can see... Gaeya's behavior certainly looks suspicious as he has only made 2 edits, both of them reversions - something that is not normal behavior for a brand new user. Both of these edits are identical in terms of content, and both of them are designed to restore the language inserted by Dr90s sock, Grassyboots (compare to dif of Grassyboots' last edit. As for the Japanese school edits, I am not very familiar with Dr90s' normal behavior in this arena, but the name "Aaa100" certainly has a common Dr90s style since Dr90s likes to take usernames with trailing digits. -Thibbs (talk) 01:23, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Interest in reverting rather than discussing (>25% of edits are reversions to prior versions favored by the "new" editor)

Numerous similarities to puppetmaster Dr90s:

  • Ogogin reverts to versions previously pushed by Dr90s socks (Ogogin: [7]; compare to Dr90s sock edits: [8], [9], [10])
  • Common geographic location (Dr90s and Ogogin both edit from Japan [11]. See earlier SPIs.)
  • Ogogin's interest in game rankings [12] [13] matches Dr90s' identical interest explained in prior SPIs
  • Identical SPA-type topic area (Zelda - specifically the POV-based diminishment of Ocarina of Time [14] and the elevation of Twilight Princess [15], [16], [17], [18]. This relates to his earlier diminishment of Ocarina of Time director Shigeru Miyamoto simultaneous with the elevation of Twilight Princess director Eiji Aonuma. See earlier SPIs and discussion of "Plan B" behavior.)
  • Editing in couplets of first a content/POV edit (e.g. [19]) and second an unrelated or trivial editorial detail (e.g. [20]) immediately afterward. This behavior is discussed in the February 18 2009 SPI report.
  • Misleading edit summaries designed to cloak reversions to preferred content (e.g. [21])

Conclusion: This looks very much like yet another Dr90s sockpuppet. The topic area and content closely match previous Dr90s favorites, the editing style is also quite similar. The editor's edit history shows that he likes to revert to restore his favored versions and this edit history makes it unlikely that he is as new as his 11-edit history would suggest. He is editing from the same geographical area as Dr90s. This is probably Dr90s- Thibbs (talk) 16:26, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User continuing edit war from last sock known sock Special:Contributions/Ogogin. In particular, Ogogin [22] [23] [24]. And Noctis1436, [25] [26] [27]. Another previous sock User:Haipa dragoon was also engaged in a campaign against the text. IP appears to be Noctis1436 editing while logged out. I'm not sure about the IP address because Dr90s is a Japanese editor and this IP seems to originate from Ireland. The IP and Noctis1436 do seem to be engaged in tag team editing, though, and I'd bet they are the same person or a set of master and meat puppet. The targeted articles seem to be largely the same between Dr90s and these editors (Zelda, Mario, Final Fantasy, and Resident Evil representing 4 of Dr90s' top 6 favorite article topics). The interest in altering or removing this line is also characteristic of both. It's difficult for me to see a strong pattern, though, due to the relatively short edit history of both editors. -Thibbs (talk) 13:27, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
