Suspected sockpuppets [edit]

Evidence submitted by Peripitus [edit]

Obvious Sockpuppetry - creating unreferenced BLP articles on some TV actors, including repeated recreation of articles under the same name. All of the accounts are indefinitely blocked, and though the above are obvious I am seeking an underlying IP/range that can be dealt with. The accounts keep on popping up; persistance is sometimes not a virtue. Peripitus (Talk) 00:23, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

Some of the edits from this IP are very similar to edits by IPs made recently that have been found to be socks of Daveygp. Examples include http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jake_Wood&diff=prev&oldid=435476227, very similar to this edit http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jake_Wood&diff=next&oldid=435524400 made by an IP shown to be Daveygp. Another example is http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Liam_Bergin&diff=prev&oldid=435478928 and http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Devon_Anderson&diff=prev&oldid=436359083, again very similar edits. Requesting checkuser because this user has set up a lot of socks recently, I want to check there are no more and no sleeper accounts. 5 albert square (talk) 18:39, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Additional information needed - This is a borderline decline. CUs will generally not reveal the IP of an account. "This user has set up a lot of socks recently, I want to check there are no more and no sleeper accounts." I can accept that, but the most recent archived information is  Stale, which leaves us with nothing more to check. Can you please point to the "recent socks"? Unfortunately I wasn't the blocking admin for the other accounts, but I do remember seeing the Daveygp name quite a few times this week. Unfortunately I cannot trace the other IPs.--5 albert square (talk) 19:08, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
no Declined The links shown above ("made by an IP shown to be Daveygp") are a bit misleading. The IP was blocked as being used for block evasion, but there's no Checkuser evidence that I can see in this regard, as well there shouldn't be. There's nothing here for a checkuser to do.  Frank  |  talk  19:31, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Comment The sockpuppet account in question would be Davidsuchet (talk · contribs). Typical Daveygp MO: account named after an actor (albeit this time a rather better one), recreates a couple of Daveygp's old deleted soap actor nano-stubs and commits a bit of BLP no-no. When the account is blocked, the IP stops, presumably because of an auto-block. I'll keep the banhammer ready for the next one. Favonian (talk) 20:06, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Given that the IP has not logged an edit in about 6 days, I'm marking this as closed. –MuZemike 22:38, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
