Suspected sockpuppets

The just registered BrumEduResearch account popped up out of nowhere a few hours ago yesterday during a heated rfc discussion on disputed material [1]. When I pointed out his remarkable timing, the editor asserted that, of the tens of thousands of different topics on Wikipedia, he just so happened to be an expert on the very topic at hand [2]. He also said that he "left" the website some time back, only of course to return at this uncanny moment ("I'm reminded of why I left now" [3]). When I then asked him what was his original handle, he claimed to have forgotten it ("it was years ago and I cannot remember my old username" [4]). However, this is doubtful since usernames are preserved in the history of all pages one has previously edited. He also didn't seem to have any trouble finding the discussion, immediately making sense of it when none of the two veteran Third Opinion editors there could [5], and repeatedly reverting for the other party [6][7]. All of the foregoing is in keeping with the signs of sockpuppetry.

NeverMessWithanAsser is another single purpose account that was created a few hours later. It coincidentally vandalized my userspace and that of three other editors involved in the discussion before being indefinitely blocked for trolling [8]. Two editors on other pages that this account vandalized suggested that the account may be connected with one Secondarywaltz or Jonathan Yip [9]. Given all this, could you please check to see if there are any other sleepers lying around? Middayexpress (talk) 16:32, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Comments by other users[edit]

Accused parties may also comment/discuss in this section below. See Defending yourself against claims. Hello. I saw this linked to my userpage. I'm a superdiversity researcher interested in new migration to Britain, Poles and Somalis included so I have tried to contribute to these articles. I have no clue who this other user is.

I was much younger when I edited before. I edited articles mainly on bands I liked. Maybe I didn't even have a username now I think of it, just an IP. BrumEduResearch (talk) 13:03, 20 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That's doubtful as well ("it was years ago and I cannot remember my old username" [10]). Middayexpress (talk) 17:37, 20 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Clerk, CheckUser, and/or patrolling admin comments[edit]
  •  Clerk declined I don't see any strong evidence linking the accounts that would warrant a check. Mike VTalk 22:50, 20 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
