Forgive a relatively long report, but all of these accounts suddenly showed up at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jimmy Rex to argue for keeping a promotional biography.

While Cokeandbread is the main respondent (as the creator of the page nominated for deletion), Amaekuma is the oldest account. It's mostly a sleeper, having made just 18 edits since August 2023. Amaekuma awakened in November 2023 to vote in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Iman Gadzhi (2nd nomination), a page that had been created by Wallclockticking. That AfD saw participation by Wallclockticking, Amaekuma, and Abdhoul 138 (Abdhoul's fourth-ever edit). All three returned for the Jimmy Rex AfD, with Abdhoul sleeping entirely between the Gadzhi AfD in November 2023 and the current discussion. These are the only two AfDs that Abdhoul has participated in.

As for the other users, Wallclockticking is a confirmed sockpuppeteer who was previously blocked for socking as Laurengoldstreet in the Iman Gadshi AfD, although the block was lifted after appeal on 2 December. Miss Dike has a history of creating promotional articles; Jimmy Rex was the first time the account participated in an AfD (after just 15 undeleted edits). Gracefoundme is probably the least suspicious; my only suspicion is that the editor found their way to a sock-filled AfD discussion as their very first AfD contribution.

More behavioral cues: the socks have a pattern of negging their fellow socks when casting keep votes (diff, diff). Wallclockticking and Cokeandbreak are also sensitive about being "disrespected" by other participants in discussions (diff, diff).

I am requesting CheckUser for the non-IP accounts only; I am including the IP in the report since (1) it is already partially blocked for block evasion, (2) two of its three articles edited are Jimmy Rex and the Jimmy Rex AfD, and (3) it edited Jimmy Rex one minute apart from Cokeandbread, indicating a WP:LOUTSOCK situation. I have been called a COI editor, a paid editor, a sock, a nonsense editor and so many other bad names just because I decided to create an article. Most times I did not even understand what the accusations meant because I have been here on Wikipedia for only 2 months. Not until I read on them, did I understand what they meant. I dont know what motivates others to vote for me however I love that people don't want the article I created to be deleted. I appreciate them alot. They make me happy and I hope to get more votes.

Let me tell you what I have observed from all these. I think that some of you have been here for so long you forget that new editors need to learn Wikipedia as a new skill and it is not so easy. Some of us have to look up to old editors and try to get examples from them. Personally, I copy from their edits, paste it and then change some parameters to suit the new subject. (I hope you understand what I am saying)?

I am not a sock, a COI, a paid editor, a trout, or whatever it is called. Some older editors seem not to understand how strongly they could stand in their convictions but they still be wrong. Let me be. Cokeandbread (talk) 22:06, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • These accounts are all editing from the same area of the world which is difficult to CU. They overlap on wide ranges, but this is expected for editors from this area. The UAs are different in a way that, if we assume the editors are connected, would suggest MEAT rather than socking. However Gracefoundme has obviously spoofed their user agent at points so perhaps this should be taken with a grain of salt. It should be noted that these accounts' geolocation has no connection to the subjects of Jimmy Rex or Iman Gadzhi. It's also interesting that both Gracefoundme and Cokeandbread edit about historical car races ([1][2] ctrl-f "rally".) Anyway, this seems fishy but CU doesn't have much to add so  Behavioural evidence needs evaluation. Spicy (talk) 15:19, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • I was able to verify that Gracefoundme's technical details match Cokeandbread's after a check on a different SPI. Izno (talk) 23:22, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • I otherwise agree with Spicy's other technical conclusions. On behavior question I'm about 50/50 on blocking Wallclockticking and Amaekuma. Izno (talk) 00:14, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A new addition to this group of potentially connected accounts. This account was created in November 2023, then slept for over a year. Its very first edit was a "keep" !vote in an AfD that has seen lots of probable sock/meat activity. It reverted this !vote 10 minutes later, then engaged in several minor edits to become autoconfirmed, before casting a new !vote in the Jimmy Rex AfD today (the user's only other substantive edit). I suspect some involvement in the socking/meatpuppet activity in this AfD. Dclemens1971 (talk) 23:26, 24 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

I noticed something unusual on User_talk:Annh07 which leads me to suspect User:Jayofpedia of being a sock puppet as well. User:Jayofpedia created their account 27 October 2023, 11 days before Pruddyyyy created their user account, and then rarely used it. Also is Nigerian.

Jayofpedia goes to Annh07’s page, calls them “sir”, requests help and mentorship with their draft, repeatedly emphasizing that they are new in a manner similar to Cokeandbread in this SPI.
Wallclockticking goes to Annh07’s page and posts “Hello User:Annh07, I hope this message meets you well. Do review the article John Franklin (comedian). Cheers.”.
Wallclockticking posts twice requesting Annh07 review a draft of theirs, hoping them well and telling them how encouraging they are and how their nurturing helped them improve a lot as an editor.
Laurengoldstreet requests Annh07 review their article. Thanks them for their encouragement, telling them it was the push they needed and that they appreciate them.
Laurengoldstreet greets Annh07 and hopes they are doing fine, before telling them to do a review of their article.
Gracefoundme posts to Annh07’s talk page “Greetings Annh07. Nobody wants to review the Wikipedia article, Dazeran Jones. I feel like I have done something wrong on the article. Please take a look Annh07. Thanks sir.”

It is notable that both Jayofpedia and Gracefoundme refer to Annh07 as “sir”, especially given that if anything Annh appears to be an extremely rare, feminine name in Nigeria. They repeatedly emphasize their newness and encouragement, and similarly request their articles be reviewed: “Do review the article John Franklin” (Wallclockticking), “Do review the article Tasha K” (Laurengoldstreet).

They should feel ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of someone's kindness and patience, although I doubt that they know how to feel shame. Photos of Japan (talk) 08:39, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
