Convenient agreement on this dispute where the user uses anon ips to edit war avoid 3RR (while trapping me to "violate" it). Damiens.rf 17:27, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • This is a bad faith accusation that has already been proven to be false on his user page at User_talk:Damiens.rf#No_personal_attacks. On that page I provided evidence that the two IP addresses in question trace on ARIN to Comcast Cable Communications, Inc. New Jersey, USA and a direct assignment to the University of Michigan Medical Center, Michigan, USA, respectively. I have no knowledge or connection to either of these IP address editors and don't even live in the same country as they do. Since I have never sockpuppeted in six years and over 50,000 edits on Wikipedia, I have nothing to hide, so I also provided my own IP address to him through a signed-out signature on his talk page. I have a dynamic IP address which my ISP changes every 24 hours (at about 0558 hrs EDT, unless I do a modem reboot first), but it always belongs to Teksavvy in Chatham, Ontario, Canada. As I write this it is 69.165.136.73. My ISP is National Capital FreeNet, in Ottawa Ontario, which resells DSL service from Teksavvy. As a consequence I welcome a checkuser to confirm what I have presented here. Having already provided conclusive proof on his user page and requested an apology for his unfounded accusations this user has indicated "I regret none of the actions you mention" and now made this accusation over again, for no discernible reason, other than he is not winning a content dispute at Talk:eHow. - Ahunt (talk) 11:47, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Slightly involved in that I protected the eHow page related to this content dispute, just like to say in support of Ahunt that it would seem unlikely that a respected 50,000 edit user of over 5 years would suddenly resort to sockpuppetery in what is a fairly minor content dispute. Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

I am suspecting Ahunt to be the master here. The issue of the matter started with him over me adding cited information to airline articles regarding the Arab Air Carriers Organization AACO to which he then deleted multiple times due to his reasoning of no source, then improper source, then finally to it being "spam". The articles in question are primarily Arab Airlines (Saudia, Qatar Airways, Kuwait Airways etc.) which they are a part of. To point out, the same exact information that i am adding already exists in multiple other airline articles (Oman Airlines as just one example), even without any cited sources. He didnt get his way when he couldn't delete as i finally added proper citations, thereby running out of excuses, so IP1 (188.174.169.170) came along and started a confrontation with me over the same exact issue, and then some more. Without any prior history and completely fresh, he deleted the same exact information i added that Ahunt was deleting elsewhere. He not only deleted the information that i added to all airlines, the way Ahunt was doing, this IP proceeded to delete edits of mines dating months back and reverting them to obviously mistake stricken articles. An example is i edited the last name of an individual from lower case to capital because it is a name, yet this IP changed it back to lowercase (lookup "Nicole AbuSharif" article). This was done out of vengeance. After the confrontation, Ahunt finds his perfect excuse to run off to an admin claiming i was going to "out" this IP user when clearly i never mentioned such as per reciepts recorded here on Wiki, which anyone can view. He complains to "The Bushranger" the admin which promplty, within the speed of lightening, results in me getting blocked. They then exchange statements of "thank you for your timely response" and "no problem, you got it!" without ever investigating or asking questions to get the other side. it is as if he already anticipated i was going to be complained about and was just waiting on Ahunt to publish his complaint and request for an "immediate and indefinite block". Ahunt laid a trap where he could accuse me of violating rules to get me blocked. i also wonder that with over 180,000 edits, why Ahunt is not an admin. Is it because he already possesses that power on his other account "The Bushranger"? to point out, the IP (188.174.169.170) who was stalking and harassing all my edits threatened me with a block and explained to me wikipedia rules and regulations as if he has been around for quite some time and possesses the power of blocking people somewhere (Maybe Bushranger?). This is what started to raise my suspicion. The reasons for both Ahunt and this IP deleting my edits are copied and pasted each time in the edit summary. they both were copying and pasting the reason on all articles. (There are about 33 airlines [all part of the AACO] i added the citated information to and both Ahunt and the IP tampered with each of these). the other two IPs i listed are also fresh and target the same article the original IP was targeting (Palestinian Airlines) and semi corrected some information (the way i had it correct) before disappearing into the blue sky like the original IP did all of a sudden after i got blocked. I suspect this was done so that those IPs or the user behind it all is not judged to be in the wrong regarding information in the article if an investigation does commence. To note, upon submitting a request for SPI, another historical SPI against Ahunt popped up to which it read the same accusations against him, that he laid a trap against the edtior to get him into trouble also. Unfortunately, at that time a user commented "how can a well known editor with these many edits do such a thing?" (to counter, and as is known, Wiki has blocked admins and mass editors for the same exact reason). Ahunt also stalked where i complained to and wrote to those admins "this user is blocked" and that i "shouldnt be worried about". to conclude, even before i became un-blocked per the unblock request, Ahunt threatened that if I try to add the cited information again, that he would delete it because now all of a sudden while im blocked, "there is a consensus" not to add such information. He seems to take issue with the idea that someone else can edit such articles and makes sure that only he dictates what can be on there, otherwise he will implement his tactics. Please run a checkuser definitely on those IPs as they are within the same range and location and run it on The Bushranger and Ahunt as this user might be logging out of one and into the other with admin power to hit people with a block. all 5 accounts seemed to be connected. 3 of them resulting in getting an editor blocked, while the 2 other are doing clean up work to cover their tracks. I suspect sock puppetry and/or meat puppetry as per recently studying these topics on Wikipedia and the matter matching both. Thanks. WatanWatan2020 (talk) 11:33, 7 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Clerk, CheckUser, and/or patrolling admin comments[edit]

  • I'm not going to entertain this SPI report at all. Because an admin blocked you after a user reported you for disruption does not mean that they're sockpuppet accounts. IP users edit all the time, and IP addresses change often. This is not sockpuppetry, nor is there any real evidence of meat puppetry. Not only am I declining running a checkuser on this SPI, I am closing it. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 12:37, 7 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
