Suspected sockpuppets

Three recent IP's that edit the same few articles (1948 Palestine war, 1948 Arab–Israeli War) and are all from a similar location. Judging by Wiki familiarity, it is likely that this is a banned user so I request a CU. It is likely that this is Noisetier. Ankh.Morpork 10:46, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

See these edits by 91.180.72.97 and 81.247.71.163 12 in the same talk page thread of Talk:Israel, one day after the other, expressing the same POV.

See these edits by 91.180.72.97 and 81.247.71.163 at Talk:1929 Palestine riots where the two IP's comment in the same threads on the page. 12, as well as both commenting in different threads on the page. To reiterate, these three IP addresses are editing the same articles with a single POV, they geolocate to the same region and participate in the same threads as different IP's. One has been cautioned for disruptive behaviour. Ankh.Morpork 13:40, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Comments by other users[edit]

Accused parties may also comment/discuss in this section below. See Defending yourself against claims.

It is blindingly obvious that this user is Noiseteir, given the geolocation, articles edited and language quirks. Noisetier is not a banned user, but he is a user evading scrutiny. He's been told, several times, by ArbCOm, that he needs to either disclose his previous identity (as Ceedjee and others), or stop editing the topic area. He's done neither. The comment regarding "opposite ends of the country" is puzzling. The first 2 IPs geolocate to Liege, the last one to Gembloux - the distance between these towns is around 60Km.

The link was already given above, in the original report - click on "Noistier" (in the sentence "It is likely that this is Noisetier.") and you'll be taken to previous SPIs with an identical pattern (using multiple IPs that geolocate to Belgium) to edit the same articles relted to the 1948 war. Take note of the comments by administrator FT2 made at 18:17, 15 September 2011 (UTC), 00:50, 16 September 2011 (UTC), 12:19, 16 September 2011 (UTC) and more. You can also e-mail FT2.

Clerk, CheckUser, and/or patrolling admin comments[edit]
  •  Clerk declined - fish CheckUser is not for fishing. Generally, checkuser will decline to link an IP to a username. Noisetier isn't even a banned user...just inactive. FWIW, the first 2 IP's and the third appear to geolocate to the same country, but at opposite ends of the country. Steven Zhang Get involved in DR! 12:50, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • The thing to consider here is Noisetier hasn't edited using their username for some time now. It may well be that they have decided to edit anonymously. If you have information regarding the direction the Arbitration Committee provided to Noisetier, then it may change the situation, so please provide any links if you have them. • I see no action to take here. Marking for close. TNXMan 14:34, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
