My username was User:Xchrisblackx this morning I got on to find that it was vandalized by myself? Check the history and you'll find that it says I wrote This user has been warned for vandalism.... what the heck well if you'll could check to see what IP's have got on I would love you But wait it get's even more complicated he/she changed my password so what to do? Help please!

Come on please help people All I Need is the IP adress of this guy to find him out and at the moment he's vandalizing

  • Do you access WIkipedia from a shared computer? It could be that you failed to log out, allowing another user to get into your account and change the password. I don't see how knowing the IP address of the vandal will help you. You should post your problem, to WP:AIV and/or WP:AN/I to get the attention of an administrator. I use a computer at a library sometimes and I wish not to sign my comments at the moment because I feel stripped of everthing so please do not add unsigned. Also I have contacted a few administrators but they recommended I come here so I could at least know who the vandal is.

  • You should be aware that the IP address of the computer you are using has been the source of wikipedia vandalism in the past, including at 8:45 this morning, in between two of your requests for assistance. That alone makes it highly doubtful that one of the sysops with the checkuser privilege will openly post here the IP address of the computer that was posting from the Xchrisblackx account. In any case what would you do with the information? If you registered with an e-mail address then you have the ability to reset the password and have it mailed to you. If you didn't, then this is a lesson to be very careful when editing from a public PC. I sympathize. Thatcher131 18:57, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The difficulty here, of course, is that how do we know the person posting HERE asking to get back into the account is the same person? Anyway, all edits by this account come from IPs traceable to the Citizens Telephone Cooperative of Floyd, VA. I also see a fair amount of sockpuppeting from one particular IP that's put things all over your userpage etc - if there's someone that's done this, it would be them.
