SexyNupe2000/Mykungfu 3rd[edit]

Clarification is there any relation of Hadsomefun and RobertOgleFan? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.114.61.65 (talkcontribs)

    •  Clerk note: Where is the supporting, or any, evidence? Rudget (Help?) 10:38, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • information Note: Let me be clear that checkuser is not magic wiki pixie dust. It can not answer all questions, and it can be evaded by a determined sockpuppeteer, especially if he/she has friends. In this specific case, note that Hadsomefun (talk · contribs) was created by Mykungfu but is currently being operated by UnclePaco (talk · contribs) in a different city. RobertOgleFan has been operated from 3 different cities over 2000 miles apart, so it is entirely possible that it is being shared. It is trivial to have a friend in another city make a few edits for you, or to edit while traveling, in an attempt to sow confusion, so behavioral evidence will always play a criticial role in sockpuppet determinations, and editors who behave like banned editors can be banned on that basis without us having to prove by DNA analysis that they are the same person. SexyNupe2000/Mykungfu 2nd[edit]

First edits were to CC Poindexter an article he wanted to create as Ninja Nubian, another MKF sock. Knows Wikiprojects fairly well during his first edits. Knows subpages and templates fairly well. miranda 01:41, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Technically Red X Unrelated and no geographic relationship to MKF's usual stomping grounds. Thatcher 11:15, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
it's possible he was on vacation or a busness trip during during the 2 days when this account was created. A review of the other ids show the same agenda in being disruptive and posting the ssame info as the others. C'mon, how does a new user come in and know all this?--Ccson (talk) 13:01, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thatcher, this IP's contributions (68.161.59.132 (talk+ · tag · contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RBLs · proxy check · block user · block log · cross-wiki contribs · CheckUser (log))) are interesting, since 1.) they come from MKF's area 2.) It links ROF to MKF because he reverts the same material as the proposed sock. It is really hard to track MKF via checkuser because he travels so much. However, I think we should block on behavior not on IP. miranda 01:02, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, checkuser is merely a technical adjunct to sockpuppet investigations. Some people that appear to share IPs will turn out not to be sockpuppets, and accounts that are sockpuppets can sometimes avoid detection or at least confuse the issue by careful choice of IP. Having made the technical investigation, I usually try to leave the contribution analysis and judgement calls to others. But you can certainly use these findings at an SSP case or post to the admins noticeboard for help. Thatcher 03:52, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note: IP hardblock looks suspicious. talk page.
SexyNupe's last edits were on April 3rd. SN was hardblocked on March 27, ROS makes the unblock request on the same day.
  • GMBAW: Edits the same pattern as MKF. (see [1], [2]). MKF can be shown below.
  • Both ROS and GMBAW edited on Gamma phi. see history.
  • Both ROS and GMBAW have the same writing style. miranda 21:59, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please for my sake and others, please hard block the IP, and find any other "sleepers" that he is using in order to prevent him from editing. miranda 01:20, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Likely Marvelmanne. Red X Unrelated GomabWork. The rest are inconclusive/maybe. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 02:53, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
On the last checkuser, Thatcher said: Marvelmanne is  Inconclusive. The technical evidence could go either way. Sorry. Thatcher 03:47, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
IMHO, I think that ROS is 80% confirmed that this is MKF, because he was caught in an autoblock on the same day as being blocked by SN. Sorry, Blnguyen, to be cautious, I would like to have another CU to run the CU again. He uses NYC universities IP as well. We must not rule that out. miranda 03:20, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
All the accounts are editing from different locations and ISPs in the same large city. (Even GomabWork; although whois says "S......", the name of the server via RDNS gives a clue to a different location.) That's as far as the technical evidence goes. Thatcher 12:07, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • adding User:JustTookNotice; editor used account as one of multiple accounts to file retaliatory sockpuppet claim.-RoBoTamice 14:32, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Yet another new IP and ISP but in the same geographic area. Thatcher 01:31, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Since he's obviously IP hopping, I think we should block based on behavior. If the user is acting like him, he will be blocked. I am sorry, but frankly I am tired of this user's drama. He's banned. If he continues evading his banned, he will be blocked on site. We shouldn't waste CU time fishing for socks, when they are in the same geographic area. We should block based on behavior. miranda 02:31, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thatcher, they're operating in the same large city? I think you should compare with Blnguyen. When I asked him to run the CU, he said the new socks were operating on the West Coast, while previous socks operated on the East Coast. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not love) 21:15, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
travel, possibly? just asking, as there was a particular sock that miranda is familiar with that let it be known that he worked in film, and would have reason to travel east coast to west coast (and of course cause mischief).-RoBoTamice 03:35, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As best I can tell they are all in the New York City metro area. (That's big enough that disclosing it does not really violate the privacy policy.) The IP used by GomabWork comes up "Seattle" in a whois search, but the actual name of the server is "xxx.xxx.xxx.nyc1.dsl.xxxxxxx.net" so I think it really is in NYC as well. That's probably what Blnguyen saw. The rest are without a doubt in the NYC area as well. Thatcher 04:11, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SexyNupe2000[edit]

I was accused of being a sockpuppet by user Miranda. [5] . So to prove innocence I'm going to request a checkuser be performed on myself. As I stated here [6] SexyNupe2000 (talk) 01:46, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Checkuser cannot prove innocence, only guilt. For example, if someone created a sockpuppet on an open proxy, and a CheckUser was run to prove their innocence, they'd still be guilty, even though the technical evidence said otherwise. Nwwaew (Talk Page) (Contribs) (E-mail me) 17:11, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I actually support the checkuser. In a previous RFCU, the IP was possibly confirmed as MKF's IP.
3RR
The IP was also blocked for a month. After the block, the IP made changes to Alpha Phi Alpha. SN reverts to the same information, not once, or twice, but three times, almost breaching 3RR.
Summary
1.) SexyNupe edits the same articles Kappa Alpha Psi and Alpha Phi Alpha in order to bring up "the first black fraternity" in order to disrupt to make a point like MKF's sock NinjaNubian. 2.) SN is familiar with mediation and checkuser, which is HIGHLY UNLIKELY for a new user. 3.) SN's first edit was mentioning that he was gone from Wikipedia for two years. MKF was banned in October 2006 for disruption. 4.) Same (IP) writing style as as MKF. Cheers. miranda 08:45, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I added QueDog, because MKF advocated for SPP being the first black fraternity, and one of QD's first edits is to advocate for SPP being the first black fraternity, thus violating SOCK. miranda 05:12, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Very  Likely SexyNupe2000 is Mykungfu.  Possible QueDog is him. Dmcdevit·t 05:26, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I tagged. Someone else please block. miranda 06:11, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have blocked this account from the evidence of both the contributions and the checkuser result above. Will (aka Wimt) 17:23, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I need to add one more sock, per this, and per F. Might want to block IP, too, if new sock is really him. miranda 03:47, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The diff. is relevant, because the [new sock entered the date January 5, 1911, on Phi Beta Sigma, (an inaccurate one to Phi Beta Sigma, but correct for Kappa Alpha Psi.) MKF's latest sock "claims" that he is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi. Based on the information, I think it is possible to do another CU on the latest sock in order to confirm. miranda 04:12, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Marvelmanne is  Inconclusive. The technical evidence could go either way. Sorry. Thatcher 03:47, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Could you elaborate on that? Nwwaew (Talk Page) (Contribs) (E-mail me) 23:09, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Inconclusive Different ISP, same geographic area. Thatcher 14:21, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
