Operadog

[edit]

All users showed up on Wikipedia around the same time to create some PR-style articles on Daniel Rodriguez and related parties, including Chelsea Opera Company, Broadway Magic, and three others I speedily-deleted per CSD A7. I'm filing here because of the apparent vote-stacking on this AfD, because of Operadog's comment here about "I and our team," and the claim here that they're all just family members editing from one computer. The whole thing seems fishy to me. I've asked them to edit from just one account, but to no avail. | Mr. Darcy talk 16:37, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Generally we prefer that families not edit collectively from the same computer like that, because it's impossible to differentiate them from your average sock-farm.  Confirmed that these people are all in the same family except LaeNamorada, who might well know them but edits elsewhere. Add to the family members the following:

Question "I'm not a sock, I'm my siblings?" Except they all sound so alike and use the computer at the same time. Can we really be certain they are all same family rather than the same person? That they're keeping their accounts all separate and unique? I realize there are potentially privacy issues involved, but I really don't buy this, that they're distinct people. Maybe this isn't the place for this post, though, please let me know where. KP Botany 15:52, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, its the wrong place. Checkuser can only provide technical confirmation. Explanations such as, "it's my roommate/family member/friend/neighbor poaching my wi-fi/really smart dog" require admin discretion. Try WP:ANI or WP:SSP for outside opinions.
