Nimbley6[edit]

It is  Possible that Travis Smiith is related to the other users listed in this case. There is not enough technical evidence to provide confirmation. I would suggest that this case be assessed on behavioural grounds. [[Sam Korn]] (smoddy) 10:57, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nimbley6[edit]

  • Supporting evidence: This recent RfCU identified several socks, which have now been indef blocked. A new user has recently reverted changes made by the blocking admin to the user pages of two of the socks: here and here. Other edits by this new user appear consistent with articles and edits made by the previous round of socks: this and this, for example, show the socks' perverse view of nationality (Scottish == Scottish, English or Welsh == British).
  • User:Jsmithcloser was created a few minutes after User:89.243.97.229 stopped editing; edits are in the same area as past Nimbley6 socks. This flag once was redpropagandadeeds 16:55, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Possible: Current available technical evidence indicates that it is possible for Closeupon (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log· investigate · cuwiki) to be related to user Cyrusmilleyhannana (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log· investigate · cuwiki). Behavioral evidence indicates that it is  Likely that there is a relationship between the two. -- Avi (talk) 07:25, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nimbley6[edit]

  • Supporting evidence: Checkuser has previously confirmed that User:Nimbley6 has used multiple accounts abusively. It is believed that Nimbley6 is itself a sock of User:Bennet556, who has also been indefinitely blocked for abusing multiple accounts. Nimbley6 is perhaps the better known of the two, so I have listed Nimbley6 as the sockmaster. Note in particular recent edits to Scotland, and the resulting short block.
  • Nimbley6 has a fascination for Scottish topics, images (particularly flags and coats of arms), and sub-headings. Nimbley6's edits are marked by poor spelling and grammar, inappropriate use of headings and sub-headings, a desire to change or fiddle with any and all images in an article, including an apparent desire to turn articles into photo galleries. Until fairly recently Nimbley6 appeared to have given up on registered accounts and simply edited from dynamic IP addresses. Since Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Nimbley6 (2nd) (which resulted in Nimbley6's indef block) there have been several further SSP reports:
  • SSP reports have typically foundered due to either being stale or due to Nimbley6's use of ever-changing dynamic IP addresses - this renders blocks ineffective, since Nimbley6 simply resets their router to obtain a new IP address.
  • Recently Nimbley6 has taken to registering accounts again; these accounts follow similar editing patterns to past behaviour - a fascination for Scottish topics, images (particularly flags and coats of arms), and sub-headings - plus attempts to initiate discussions on talk pages, particularly Talk:Scotland (note that Scotland is semi-protected largely because of Nimbley6's antics on that article).
  • I suspect that checkuser will reveal that all registered accounts listed above were created from IP addresses owned by Opal Telecom - Nimbley6's anonymous edits have all come from Opal Telecom IP addresses.
  • User:78.144.228.235 popped up after Cyrusmilleyhannana was blocked for 72 hours, editing Cyrusmilleyhannana's user page.
  • User:Brihemianrhapsody may be unrelated, but displays a similar interest in changing infobox images.
  • User:Spainton appears more obviously to be a sock of at least Cyrusmilleyhannana; the user page is - like Cyrusmilleyhannana - a copy of Scotland, the same appalling spelling is used, and the editing history seems to follow Nimbley6's interests - i.e. mostly Scottish topics. The username was created after Cyrusmilleyhannana' short block began.
  • User:Ricky_Oliver, User:Mysong and User:Mysongcutalongruth all seem to follow the model laid down by Cyrusmilleyhannana (i.e. copy a UK country's article to their user page) in addition to the usual Nimbley6 antics.

  • User:Jsmithcloser has just carried out the usual Nimbley6 edits on Scotland (inserting sub=headings) was set up three days ago and has multiple Nimbley6 style edits to Scottish Singers. --Snowded TALK 18:10, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
