Kzq9599

[edit]

Kzq9599 (talk · contribs) seeks to remove WP:RS from Heather Wilson. The request is rebuffed by the community. Ten hours or so later, WPBio (talk · contribs) becomes a new user and uses his/her first edit to create a user page and second edit to support Kzq9599 [2] and modify wikipedia policy [3] and remove entire criticism pages [4].

What makes this troubling is Kzq9599 accused a long time editor of "beginning to suspect that you're a paid political operative from the Patricia Madrid campaign."[5] Self projection? Maybe, but:

Also check NeilinOz1 (talk · contribs) who got involved arguing the same line as the other two.[6] As in this post he wrote "I'm from Australia, so I have little interest in American politics"[7] but in another post wrote "I'm in Washington DC, here for the big stop the war rally."[8] Thus, obviously he is wrong in one of those accounts to be active in a US protest as an Australian means you do care about US politics. (Note: His IP was blocked before reason given on user's talk page: "Checkuser block.")

Is this part of a political attempt, as Kzq9599 suggested, to mess with wikipedia? A Washington DC IP getting blocked at a protest, but doesn't care about politics? The above claims seem strange and I thought of this. Arbustoo 22:41, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clerk note: I have moved the threaded discussion to the talk page. Please direct any other comments there. PTO 01:39, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please note that WPBio probably should have been blocked on sight per username policy (name sounds official, given that WPBio is the common name for WikiProject Biography). If any other similar names appear, please consider blocking them on username alone. Saves you doing a checkuser too. Cheers. --kingboyk 21:57, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
